One of the biggest aspects of the game that has changed are the training grounds. Today, 90% of the training grounds beside Stronghold and Hall of Honor are basically obsolete. Most people grind on Monster Park extreme/ EvoLab/ Dimension Invasion daily to gain experience levels. Majority of the players do so because of their efficient experience rates. 7 years ago, it wasn't like that.

First off, money was a difficult thing to obtain. Being a level 32 page, I barely had 900k in mesos. Monster Carnival was great, because the noobs could train without the constant usage of potions. We all picked up those gold coins for the spigelman necklace. A friend im my grade 6 class, a fire poison mage picked up a red whip one day. He would equip it while we looked for room 4/5 in monstercarnival. He told me in party chat to "wait up". He traded me and later and showed me a whooping 5 million mesos. I was in awe. For whatever reason, I quit my page that week and started a dagger thief. Level 26, wearing my bathrobe and brown bamboo hat, I was talking to my f/p mage friend on how retarded the stolen fence looked. After we finished a couple more runs of monster carnival, he traded me.

He was a mage, and obviously thought it he showed me it to brag. However while I was looking at the item, the item sprite turned a shade lighter. The 9 other boxes around it did too. He was trading me the pan lid. I was flustered. I pressed trade. I couldn't believe it. Immediately I asked him how much it cost, but he told me a lucky green mushroom had given it to him. Biggest @@ moment of my life

Later that week, i found myself in ludibrium doing the gfa quest. For the second last stafe I had to go into the room with the master chroni. By devilish luck, a chronos droppedd a blue buckler incased in a yellow light. Immediately I pick it up and mouse over it. The ether shield. In doubt, I googled the item and confirmed it was a legit drop. I quickly imagined what i could buy if i sold it. 5 minutes later, my fire poison friend logged back saying he was done eating dinner.

I immediately traded him the ether shield, much like he did with the pan lid. He later told me he teared up a little.

To this day we are still good friends. Although he doesnt play anymore, this memory remains forever.
