Starting One Piece At Episode 516
So I've decided to watch One Piece, but I also want to keep ~200 hours of my life so I'm starting at episode 516, the episode before the 2 year time skip.
I have two questions:
Is there a better place to start at? (The later the better)
What do I need to know about One Piece pre timeskip? Anyone important? Any important events?

I could see maybe starting Naruto after the time skip, but one piece has so many characters, plots, and towns that get introduced before the time skip. It would take an essay to talk about what was introduced so you dont ever feel lost after the time skip

But yea, just suck it up and start from the beginning. You're watching hundred of episodes regardless, so why not know absolutely everything that is going on?
I started watching about halfway through the Thriller Bark part and I caught on pretty quick. I ended up watching other arcs when I got more interested (CP9 & Impel Down got me into the show), and he said he doesn't want to spend alot of time watching the show until he knows he likes it and the beginning is kinda slow
Recommend not watching it at all if you are gonna skip so many episodes. You'll miss a lot of major details that affect them later throughout the anime. Also, I don't even like Fairy Tail, but that's just me
just skip the filler arcs
you could just read the manga from the beginning it shouldnt take as long as watching 700 episodes.
I jumped into reading One Piece during Ace jailed arc. The series is very episodic, nothing happens so it's fine to jump right in.
You should start with the cp9 arc. You'll probably get the most feedback in terms of how each character is like + most interesting storyline (maybe Alabasta). By the end you can decide to keep watching the show or nah (tried to do the same thing w Naruto and just couldnt even).
So far, post-timeskip hasn't been as great as pre-timeskip. Just read the manga
seriously start from the beginning. one piece has like 2 episodes of filler. I honestly don't understand how other fans are telling you to start somewhere that isn't the beginning. One Piece for me cannot be compared to any other anime and the fact that its almost at 700 episodes means its something that is worth watching entirely
Watch from beginning, one piece is king of foreshadowing, we still getting random pop ups from alabasta arc and that was like 7 years ago

Not a good idea, One Piece has a habit of bringing back old characters.
If you want to jump into One Piece like that, you can read a condensed plot here but DO NOT READ THE LAST PARAGRAPGH because it contains the current story arc.
It's generally not a very good idea to jump into a show where you don't know the characters. I suggest you start from the beginning and skip the filler episodes (sites like this are helpful)
I watched the whole thing and it took a long time. There were some good moments that you can't really get the experience of from only watching a fraction of the episodes.
Idk man. 16 days is a lot of days
Watching two episodes a day lets you finish it in a year. You don't have to bindge watch.
Idk man. 16 days is a lot of days
don't watch if you can't commit
uhm you need to watch at least ep 490 when ace gets fire-fisted through the solar plexus and dies in agony
Smh dont even watch then
