Are video games a waste of time?
I feel like video games are a waste of time - the only part of the year where I actually have time to play is the summer.
I'm a walking contradiction though, because I want to play video games but I just feel like whenever I play anything it's a huge waste of time.
I always say I'm going to play in the summer (in my mind) but I never get to the point anymore where I turn the game on, I usually just watch other people play games on Twitch.

I think they're a good break from reality.
my parents think they are but i disagree
You're looking for something other than video games. I've noticed it myself: it's the adrenaline rush and team work I like. So I found something else!
If you have a bigger event (for example Soccer) then Video games can help you relax and stuff.
Video games were literally designed for people to play and waste their time
Well, I can tell you that Maplestory is a waste of time.
Playing video games is a hobby. Is it a waste of time? It's probably subjective.
I have always found enjoyment in playing (good) video games. I think experiencing enjoyment in this little time we have on earth is not a total waste of time.
Also:
You don't play games, because you think it's a waste of time, but you watch other people play video games instead?
@DaBrownGuy: So I usually stick to Puzzle, Sandbox, and mainly Adventure. But I tried different series (Like I went to Metal Gear after normally playing Nintendo games) and had some fun with it.
Games from different devs, consoles or just genres really.
I guess it depends on the video game.
If you feel like it's a chore playing it, then that isn't your type of game. I'd say experiment and try games you would never play. I went through a "why do I even play games" phase a couple times and then I tried some new games or played some old ones and just got over it.
How did you exactly try out new games? Was there a process you used to find them?

I get straight A's and everything too, I just feel like I can accomplish more with my time, but then again, I feel like I'm never enjoying and I'm missing out on what I truly want to do (play video games)
