I still love my Shad but... I quit it because Revamp makes them a baby-DB. (Lv. 162 Shadower)
I'm currently making a Bowmaster, and I really enjoy it so far. (Lv. 84 Ranger)
Hero... Gave it some thought but I can't imagine only relying on Intreprid Slash forever. (Lv. 0 Nothing)
Mercedes.
I'd say Bowmaster, I have a Shad and a BM, BM books cost much less and they do a lot more damage without much funding.
I didn't have much money to fund either character and my Shad's damage is horrible whereas my Bowmaster's is not too bad.
I haven't played a Hero before so I can't say much about that class.
Wanna spend 40-90M on BS 20 and 30 go for it.
