I didn't play the alpha because I thought there was gonna be a wipe, and I'm so hyped for this. It'd be great if DFO could find an audience and succeed this time around.

@Rianael
NeoPle stated that the Beta turnout was not what they expected. A message implied that it was below their standards.

@SirKibbleX2

It's hilarious now that I think of it. They stopped giving updates for 6 months. We were still having Halloween Pumpkins drop in the middle of May up until the game closed on June 12th. There was this one community manager that did the best he could with the remainder of the community. (Sageon) He dealt with a lot of crap from the players as well as giving us a heads up that DFO may not be running in the future- months ahead of the actual announcement.

Yes, by the time DFO closed we were a little over 2 years behind in updates, where we were only 6-8 months behind Korea before.

I feel like the reason why they say 80% failure is: they're new at this, it depends on the playerbase; which someone already said. Honestly, if this game was streamed and got onto Steam asap, it will do fine since Neople are creators, not publishers of games so any type of word to mouth, YouTube videos, Twitch streams, and flyers lol would do this game good.

@Darkness129 Turnout was great for the fact that it popped of nowhere and a friend showed it to me.
What made Nexon toss DFO away in the 1st place?
I don't keep up with that stuff.

If it's because nobody's playing it then what's with the hype?
Exactly. This game on the other side of the world has massive appeal, along with e-tournaments "around the scale" of DOTA, LoL. (i put qoutes since LoL and DOTA are also big here in the U.S)

Some reasons why DFO died due to Nexon:

- lack of advertising
- very little attention to playerbase
- Anyone who has played a game published by Nexon knows their quality of service, it isn't great.
- no sense of damage control
>>>> Game currency is a thing. Bots deflate worth. Economy bankrupts. Game currency sellers pop up. Situation got worse. It got so bad sellers and bots posted their websites to sell game currency for money.
- lack of updates:
>>>> At one point we were behind 1~2 years of updates irrc
Yeah that 80% thing really disheartened a lot of people.

Not surprising though, I mean the turnout was really bad for the alpha compared to their versions overseas which are enormous. It's also true that it came out of the blue with no advertising or warning. We'll see how this Beta turns out and hopefully they're willing to give it another chance.

yup.

im actually hoping it will last this time because i really enjoyed the game. however, from a realistic point of view, i dont see a bright future for it.

i still downloaded the game and will be playing the game until the last second it closes
"There is a 80 percent chance of failure"

This comment made by the CEO was really disheartening.

Really want to see the game succeed and hopefully it does.

Download client is up btw.

he also said there's a 80% chance of success but it all depends on us, the players.

imo, theres a good chance this game will be a repeat of when it was under nexon, but we'll have to see.
