What should I do about this virus?

So I got a Thinkpoint virus a couple days ago, and managed to wipe it out; however, I think that the virus has affected Firefox/IE, as I get linked to some random website every single time I use a search engine. Someone suggested Kaspersky, so I DL'd it, and scanned with it. It continuously detects explorer.exe and some of the stuff in my system32 folder viruses, wipes them out, and then my computer is forced to system restore before I DL'd Kaspersky. Does anyone know a solution to this issue?

The virus might have set up a proxy for you, so everywhere you go you'll be re-directed cuz of the proxy.
Make sure you got your proxy unchecked (Tools>Options>Advanced>Network>Settings> [o] No Proxy)
