Is Gms on its way to becoming dead?
I notice that the population of GMS is decreasing and it doesn't seem like the new jobs and events are keeping players.
It's sad to see a great game going downhill..
I mean, not even just GMS. I heard MSEA is dying too and Europe MS is already empty.
Apparently, KMS is doing good though..
Your opinions?
- Bring back un-nerfed LHC
- Bring back CPQ
- Amp up PQ exp/item rewards
Those 3 things in my opinion could restore a lot of the community. LHC brought quite a bit of player interaction, and of course we all know how difficult 40-60 is now, and I believe that CPQ could help and bring a huge community aspect with it. Last, PQ rewards need a huge buff. Make them worth the while, and people will play (especially older PQs - LMPQ anyone?)
YES! LmPQ and CPQ! I miss those so much. Best/fun/interactive leveling from 40-70 lol. Let's not forgot that quick gain in mesos too with LmPQ. We need more PQs like that
How many times have I've seen these kind of threads?
Before Maple is about friends and community but now it's about money, level and MONEY. -__-
The only reason I started playing Maple again is because dfo closed down and my fire for league dimmed. And now DFO is back. lol You can play that and easily have fun leveling in dungeons that don't require uber funds, and you can easily make parties and talk, and you can't get left behind by your friends. You can help your low level friends in dungeons. But it still is to be decided how popular it will be when it releases fully again. It's only in alpha right now, but you get to keep your character name, level, and class at least, although nothing else.
I love you, I just finished downloading it.
Well, summer is starting soon, so we might see more people coming back to the game because they have no school commitments
I remember when it took several years to hit a fairly high level.. Now people can manage to hit 200 in a day.
I actually recently came back to the game and I have been pretty interested in the game, training and funding my character. The really issue is how difficult it is to get funds without using NX, I know people merch but you have to spend NX to get a shop..
I actually recently got demotivated cause my computer or internet can't handle to much action at one time in the game so yeah.

It used to be enjoyable. But now, I can barely stay on for 5 minutes without being bored. I liked to grind at LHC on my other characters. But ever since, its been nerfed, I do nothing on my other characters. MS is boring. Events are the same old "kill 200 monsters near your level" typical crap. Nexon is terrible. LoL ftw.

The population fluctuates between 15k to 20k based on time of day and what events are going on. Maplestory is becoming more of a small niche community instead of a being in the spotlight like it was 5-6 years ago.
It's peak was actually 3~4 years ago.
Oh look, it's this thread again.
And you have a problem with it?
they make too much money to be deaddead. ghost online hung in there for a long time and that game was DEAD
big bang not only revived maplestory, but started it's decline.
game got too easy. too pay2win.
its nearly impossible for a free player to make enough money to buy the equipment needed to boss effectively and if your a paying player, better take out a second mortgage if you even want to cube a single item to legendary, let alone 15%+.
nexons took a really bad choice with how they handled their cash shop in my opinion.
I recently have been getting a lot more free time than I usually have, so I tried getting back into Maplestory. However, its soo much more dead as of recently and the game has really lost its touch. There are just much better things to play now, as sad as it is... :c
Even Basilmarket's forums move a lot slower than they once did, I think.
EDIT: Below is totally right. Cash shop gave players with money a RIDICULOUS advantage that made a lot of free-players, or players who didn't spend absurd amounts of money, vanish.
lel mapelstery is ded i am so nostalgik i am co0l remembr teh go0d old days?

The game has started to go downhill since we got Chaos update. If it keeps like this, it will eventually be dead, but at the current rate, its likely going to take a long time before it happens.
MapleStory died in 2008 this is all just a dream.

I said no because EMS isn't 'already empty' like you said. RED brought back a good number of players and while it doesn't hit the post-BB heights of the server's history the population's definitely solid enough. You'll never have trouble finding a party for whatever, that's for sure.
Edit: That said, I can't speak for the other servers I mentioned. It's true that there's a much greater number and better quality MMOs on the market now than were at MS' conception, of course. They've kind of pulled me away so I imagine it's the same for others.
Yes it Is
It already died a little
theres nothing to do on maple at all
Sadly to say, I agree with you.
It's so easy to level now and the community is just.. dead. ._.
theres nothing to do on maple at all
