How come I cant use an interrobang?

On Basil, I know that multiple instances of punctuation are filtered to a singular. But does that have to apply to interrobangs? It's kind of... weird. I mean, it's a method of expression, same as a ? or ! but it's filtered to a ? or a ! depending on which went first.

Same reason as most of the other restrictions on the site- past abuses.
It's why we can't have nice things.

It's quite unfortunate. Because I often find the desire to place an '!' after many of my '?'s.

In any case, it has been made this way to curb punctuation spam abuse (as has happened in the past by immature users). Attempts to bypass the site's filters will usually result in a suspension. So, I guess we just have to deal with it or submit a ticket to mrbasil asking for it to be changed.

Er... isn't the interrobang when the question mark and exclamation point are superimposed on top of each other? I don't think there's a name for just having them side by side (and some people don't even accept that as grammatically correct).

Anyway, I'd imagine it does that because people used to spam punctuation. So mr basil probably got tired of it and just made it so you can't use certain combinations at all, even if you're not spamming.

I don't understand?
Yeah did it to me. You can blame the past actions of basilers for the endless restrictions

I agree that the site not allowing anything besides standard non-diacritic English (NOT EVEN ACCENTS!) is dumb.
