Few questions about Paladin

I am thinking of making a paladin, it seems really fun to be tanky and I like blunt weapons. Although I have a few questions.
1)What is the playstyle?
2)Are they more slow and strong or fast and weak?
3)How are they in evo?
4)Do they level fast?

Thanks!

1. rotating among charges and intermittently using blast. it's an.. interesting gameplay i guess. not so boring as it used to be, just spamming blast/charged blow.
2. pretty slow, but pretty strong too. blast got nerfed in terms of speed and our slipstream got nerfed to a flash jump, so we can't be as smooth as we used to be (imo).
3. pretty slow in evo. our mobbing is good but we lack the aoe skills that can deal damage in all directions. plus mediocre mobility.
4. alright fast. i guess most jobs level up fast.

@Renkotesu put it very nicely, the playstyle of most classes in this game is monotonous, attacking revolves around a few key skills that are either for mobbing or for bossing. Paladin's attacks revolve around alternating between the several attacks you have (you could think of them as the same exact attack with different elements added on to them), the "charge" system makes it so that you have to alternate attacks at some point to get the most out of your character.
For bossing it's mostly keeping up charges and spamming Blast, since it is the best single target attack a Paladin has (and the only one it has frankly)

they lean more towards the slow but strong side, their animations are a bit longer than other faster classes out there like Battle Mages or Kaisers, but it's honestly not too bad, everyone has mobility tools and Paladin isn't an exception, you don't really need anymore than the flash jump and dash you are given.

they are fine in Evo, but most classes are so...

they level moderately fast, they are really strong unfunded and hit plenty of targets (up to 9 with lightning charge and 5 stacks of advanced charge), but they don't exactly fill up the map with attacks like a luminous can.

I have a Paladin and I have to say that amongst all the character that I have, it shines above the rest, both in playing style and damage dealt. My usual way of combat is using Ice, Lightning and Holy Charge in that order to increase my Element Charge to 5. I then use Blast to get the Total Damage, Critical Rate and DEF Ignored boost and revert back to the Ice, Lightning and Holy Charge combo. It's very monotonous, but that it's not as bad when you consider the amount of damage they deal compared to other classes that are just as monotonous.

A small tip would be to put Ice, Lightning and Holy Charge in a macro to reduce the amount of buttons needed to be pressed.

You'll find yourself rotating between charges, since there are small added bonuses to using them in order (Fire -> Ice -> Electric -> Holy -> Repeat).

They're "slow" but strong, IMO. Can't comment about Evo, as I've never done it. I'd say they level slow, because they don't have super insane mobbing skills like other classes. Flat maps are your best friend, though.
