Either that, or it takes the place of the shield.

I don't know why people are complaining about secondary weapons.
When Mercedes, DS, Mihile, Kaiser, and Angelic Burster came out, (eventually Mechanics obtained their own) people were spewing out jealousy and wished they have them too or remove them all together. Those classes alone automatically outdid the non-secondary weapon classes in range so why not try and even things out for once?

@Miauri: Yes, because an unfunded player being able to barely reach 10k while someone who has more money to waste gets over 300k range, is fair. I'm not saying that the advantage shouldn't be there, however it should be limited. Right now, it's getting closer to infinite.

Paladin: Looks like outdated graphics, not impressed
Dark Knight: Looks pretty cool and functions similar to Mercedes one so I approve

Fire/Poison: I don't really know what this does. It's a really small skill, but it does a lot of damage (700 x 6, 700 dot x 30 sec), which, overall, makes it the strongest hyper skill so far [b]in terms of percent damage with a 90 second cooldown.[/b] The 8 second cooldown ones are different though, as they take out a full attack in order to do so, and doing damage calculations would be too early at this point.

EVERYONE was once unfunded. The longer one plays the game, the more funded he or she gets. I started around beta and i was a total noob. Throughout the years of on and off maplestory, i finally became "funded". EVERYONE starts unfunded.

MAPLESTORY creates events and patches for ALL people, the unfunded and funded.

I dont pity the unfunded one bit.

You guys should check the link in the first (or maybe second) page. The big thing here isn't the secondary equips. The big thing is the hyper skills for adventurers.

The most interesting include:
I think all warriors?- +1 hit on primary 1v1/bossing skill
Dark Knights- Some buff that increases damage/hp absorb
Hero- Some damage buff (pretty sure)
Bishop- Heavens door is just pretty

Oh, and a new "Evolving" system put in the game.

The point is, let's say the funded has 300% dex. This means he can (more than likely, with a good weapon) hit max damage. Now he get's this new piece of equipment, it's only marginally helpful at BEST.

That being said, what really needs to be hit upon is this. The gap between the funded and the non-funded IS ridiculously huge. But with all of the things they're adding in to the game, it's giving funded people one more notch (that they likely don't even need) for hitting high damage, while giving unfunded people one more notch to achieve that same goal. In the current state of the game, I wouldn't call the secondary equip a game-changer. I mean... we already have them on some characters.

ok both unfunded and funded benefit, it all depends on your funding. super leet funding: 999k to 9mil (because of cap), pot weapon does not help. pretty good funding: 999k to 5mil, with pot weapon becomes 9mil, so of course it helps. lousy funding: 100k to 500k, 550k with pot weapon, it does help but not as much. happy? yes. i.e. both ends of spectrum get it worst, the middle ppl get it the best.
