The execution was pretty lackluster. From what exists so far it's just a flop disguised as an interesting premise.

I thought the point of a harem anime is essentially to allow the viewer to self-insert themselves as the main character (why they tend to be somewhat bland in design) and imagine themselves with the girl of their preference (much like a dating sim, only less interactive). The reason why the main character is always wishy-washy and never chooses one of the girls is so the anime doesn't piss off the fans of the main character being with another girl, so the story always ends up open-ended or, if one girl gets ahead, the others will catch up somehow.

A concept in where the MC in a harem anime has no romantic interest (and will not gain one) is completely nonsensical. Essentially, we have a parody or subversion of the genre... but even then, how do you go very far from that premise without making the series seem like the same tired joke over and over? That's why I doubt this could become a long series or even an anime - the joke has been told by the title of the comic and any plot point from this point (unless the MC is not actually gay, but rather is percieved somehow to be gay), we're just hit by the punchline over and over with new takes on the delivery. It can't go very far.
