Why does a ninja need claws to throw stars?

Im totally clueless, i mean can't you just use your hand?

I think assassins should be able to throw stars without a claw. They could put it to be a "Very Slow" atk when not wearing claws, this way it would look like they cant throw stars so fast without something to protect their hands.

emos seem fine without claws

In common sense:
-Protection from stars. Grabbing 6 sharp stars in less than 1 second must require fast, strong gripping.
-If an enemy pops up in front of you, you use the attached dagger / 'hidden blade' / claw part of it to stab them.

In maple:
-Claws can be scrolled/upgraded whereas nothingness cannot be scrolled.
-If it weren't for claws, all sins would be based off a damage formula that even more heavily relied on attack. We with heavy funding would destroy those unfunded even more

Then again, it is Maplestory.

U ALL ARE STOOPID IDIOTS! jk, but they have them so they dont cut their hands(pplz already said that, i kno) and so there doesnt need to be a new star every 10 lvls. That would be retarted. Also, it extends their reach and allows them to throw multiple at a time.

@Fartaura: That star could have cut someone else that had AIDS. Their blood is now on that star. That star gets through your first line of defense...

FF13 victory song

Congrats you now have AIDS
The more important question is, why is a claw that goes on ONE hand a TWO handed weapon? O_O
This.. and their claws look so much brutal than knuckles.

I would imagine that they're much sharper than we actually think.
Yeah, it does seem weird, especially since they also increase the damage you do. Although, it'd probably be easiest to say that it's because of magic.
or spring loaded? more tension on the spring means a higher attack?

Probably ninja'd, but Naruto doesn't use a claw.

Uhh if you happened to cut yourself there would be a possibility to get AIDS and/or Tetna. Thats a No No.

i mean isnt claws like for scratching, for example: bear claws?

still dnt get what's maplestory's main goal of having assasins/hermits/nightlords use claws.

btw since when did hermits learn how to throw stars. I mean arent they just people who like to stay alone and stuff?

wierd O_o
@above Naruto throws and grips ninja stars just fine
Naruto only throws like 3 stars during the battle, and punches the rest of the time and uses his super magical jutsu

Oh, I was expecting a pun.

@IzukiDesu: BAHAHAHA! This thread was worth it after all.

@WorkOfArt: Your comment reminded me of an interesting conversation I had with a friend awhile back. I wish you could scroll people. And blow them up.

Because they can get hurt. Stars can cut you.

Claws are more or less a place holder to put the stars. I can't remember for the life of me where i remember reading/seeing this at...but it's more to hold and grip the stars, you could use your hands, but when you're throwing 6million stars a minute, i'd rather something else to be cut up rather than my hand...
