@meso911 thanks a lot man feedback is greatly appreciated! however, to experience the full potential of each class would require me to move all my gear back and forth </3 and i'd rather not spend the funds in order doing so. Sadly Luminous isn't available now so i can't really remake one cause i have a set ign on reserve for it incase i do choose luminous.
OT: correct me if i'm wrong but isn't it there technically no real "speed cap" cause you can keep adding on if i read correctly

@dee14: I cant particularly answer you on most of that, BaM's DPS comes from their inherently high attack speed, although max speed IS possible on a lumi via +1atk speed inner pot, DSI, and MPE green pots, and BaM is still quicker overall when it comes to speed in general. As for damage comparison I can't say much, the last time i played my BaM or Lumi was in the summer, and neither of them were quite funded, I do know i preferred BaM for the quickness as it made gameplay more demanding, whereas i just spammed reflection at HoH on my lumi. My best advice is to try both to see what playstyle you prefer and perhaps choose that way, for me i have to enjoy the class in order to want to fund it.

@NoodleBrain @weredoggy @meso911 i don't really follow the dps charts seeing they are a bit unrealistic seeing i would never be able to spam such skills for so long seeing all the new and harder bosses dont require to me stationary except gollux, however it is pretty accurate. I understand BaM's are higher in the dps charts, but their dmg does get cut in half in comparison to a Lumi because they do carry some sort of an elemental reset. Is it true that in comparison to other classes that Lumi's have a higher matk in comparison to most mages? Another question my dmg being cut in half isn't so much of a huge issue with me cause I still would be dishing out about 7m per line on my BaM i would assume. I do like Lumi for the bind which would help out in bosses like hard magnus/empress/cpb. To be dishing out consistent dmg i would have to poor more funding into lumi am i correct?

Take into account that BaM's get their damage cut in half due to bosses physical resistance. Lumi ignore that resistance and dont get their damage cut in half. Lumi can also bind and heal themselves and party members.

dps chart is a moot point because on bosses lumi have 100% def. reduction and resist reduce whereas BaMs will automatically get their damage cut in half. Lumi also has a bind (quite useful on alot of higher end boss) and you will always be at a safe range (ie soloing gollux).
AND lumi has a ridiculous tele range, seriously that thing makes you zoom across the map like a hacker

Lumi = mobber

I have both and let me tell you, they are both equally fun

OT: well, for bossing both Lumi and BaM are good. However, you usually don't see BaM bossing videos (like solo Empress, Magnus, or Mano) but there are a ton of Lumi videos. Personally and biasedly, Lumi seems to be the more powerful Mage. His attacks are very long range, Equilibrium can not only do ridiculous burst damage (14 lines of 100% crits) but it can save you from DR and really strong attacks (since most attacks are reduced to 1hp damage during EQ. BaM seem more active (from what I have seen, not done) in their attacks, similar to a thief and probably is funner than Lumi. Lumi playstyle gets boring soon since after lvl 150 it's all about waiting for EQ's cooldowns for your next Ender spam

In terms of bossing its BaM hands down.
Mobbing then the obvious choice would be luminous.

mobbing for lumis>>>>>>>> bam for support personal opinion but being a a top FMA lumi is not "easy" to fund

I really like the Luminous class and play style, and it was considerably easier to level to 140 than any other class I've ever played. However, I haven't played a Battle Mage so I can't say which one is better.

BaM is a fast attacking tanky mage, Lumi is a ridiculous mobber, decent survivablity, and excellent bosser when the boss can be bound. Honestly my answer is preference, I have a 187 lumi and 200 BaM lumi is more relaxed I think, while BaM is more fast paced. All in all it's preference, so I would level both without funding them to find which playstyle you like more (keep in mind BaM peaks at 170, and is getting a buff soonish)
