Rap The New Age
I have been listening to rap since the 90's and have noticed a huge change in the rap industry. Many big names are coming from their own labels rather than car-pooling onto a mainstream label. It's incredible to see, although I am not a fan of rappers like Macklemore, you've got to respect that they did it all on their own.
For any basilers who are interested in rap, who do you listen to?
My playlists consist of Lil Ugly Mane, Shawn Kemp, Yung Lean, Denzel Curry, E$cott (a kid who went to my high school who's actually doing videos with Chance the Rapper's little brother), Tokyo Shawn, Dumbfoundead (new name is Parker), Supa Sortahuman, Antwon, Cyne, MF DOOM, Mike G, Vince Staples, People under the Stairs, Robb Bank$, Pro Era, Vic Mensa, and Joey Bada$$.

When I listen to rap I usually listen to Kanye West, Tyler, The Creator, or A Tribe Called Quest. I don't really like most of the rap nowadays besides the artists I already mentioned.
the Geto Boys self titled album is the best record ever, that and everything kanye....you havent listened to real hip hop till you hear this

I'm honestly not too sure why he did that change, he hasn't come out with an album since changing his name. He did release "Shattopark" under the name Parker and that track blew my mind. Thoughts on Lil Ugly Mane retiring? and his beats are otherworldly, haven't found another producer like him.
