A question about teachers.

My teachers are always stressing the fact that students can't plagiarize, but then I notice that most of the projects and assignments they give us comes straight from the internet, sometimes word for word, and they don't credit the website they got it from.

I just wanted to know if they could actually do that without giving credit where it belongs? It makes me mad how they say that we can't plagiarize (and I don't), but they always seem to do it...

they dont publish projects. they share it among their students.
im not sure exactly what projects you are referring to, but teachers are given authorization to pass around published works of arts to teach students.
Us students on the other hand "publish" our projects when we turn it in. So if we copy someone else then it is considered plagiarism.

it is complicated and messed up in a way, but teachers do have that right to pass around works from other people. Im sure the teachers do credit other peoples' work but just not appreciated the same way as others might expect.

Maybe it's because the site allows the teachers to print/copy without permission if it is for class use.

It depends on if your school have some kind of agreement with the websites, if that's not the case I think that the teachers is plagiarizing, yes.
