Best class to start completely new on? Tips for coming back?
With absolutely no funding, no connections, and no idea of what to do in a new world, who should I play?
What class should I play for decent damage and somewhat low pot consumption if I'm starting with nothing?
And is there any tips I should know for coming back to maple?

+1 for bishop
Also Kanna. Since they don't expect you to dps (doesn't mean you shouldnt, helping out is still good of course) you don't have to worry about how much damage you do.
I'd recommend bishop. It's easy to make friends and build connections since they're everyone's beset friend when it comes to training. Later, you can switch to f/p mage for damage and boss
