How to play a mech?
So I started a mech in reboot, but it's stills confuse me.
Am I just supposed to spam homing missiles? or do I use an actual directional attack? What's the point of HM? Do I macro it?

all you really need to know is the tank is best used for bossing, with the exception of Zakum. Use humanoid mech if you are soloing zak so you almost never have to worry about his summons. but with other bosses that don't have summons like mag, enter tank and spam slavo and HM. for anything else use humanoid mech.
@distantsky: A bit more than just HP. It's adds a whole lot of % total damage.
AFAIK, you can't macro homing missiles so you're stuck with Humanoid AP Salvo Plus + Homing Missile tapping, or spam tapping Tank mode Salvo Plus + homing missile tap. You use more of the latter since humanoid mode doesn't generate a decent amount of missiles to do anything nice.

You mean that HP regen tower?
All you need to do in order to use Homing Missles properly is to hold down your main attack key and, while doing that, spam-tap the key for homing missiles. The main attack will keep going while the missiles will fire off as you spam them. Essentially, your Mechanic does both attacks at the same time. If you can easily kill the enemies you're training on without the missiles, don't bother tapping the missile key and just hold down your main attack skill. If you need a little more damage output, then spam it.
And, of course, don't forget to summon your towers and that humanoid mode is for mobbing, while tank mode is for bossing... most of the time.
@distantsky: If you mean grinding/mobbing then yes. You will be in Humanoid mode spamming Heavy Salvo Plus for grinding/mobbing.
For bossing it is tank mode spamming AP Salvo Plus w/ tapping Homing Missile.
Wait, so HM is pretty useless pre-bossing?
You enter tank mode and hold down AP Salvo Plus.
While you do that you tap Homing Missile. Don't hold down on Homing Missile though, or you won't be able to continuously spam AP Salvo. Just tap it once, let the missiles hit the boss, tap it again, and rinse and repeat.
Be sure to deploy your summons, especially Support Unit.
HM is used as a bossing move (Final attack) along with savlo/
and directional and HM to make your hit box bigger
