nexon is unproffessional in every way
look at it: their customer service sucks, bugs fill the pages, they still don't have a single person working on the weekend in case an exploit breaks out (which most do on the weekends; see they never learn!) and don't even get me started on how they handled today's hot time.
to those defending who want to defend nexon, tell me where they are professionals.
the fact they change the rewards past last minute and simply brushing it off as a mistake was really professional, yeah right.
@above what was the point of your post?
No, not the fact that they DID it, the fact that they were ABLE to do so.
It proves that even though they may not have a skeleton crew to work over the weekends, that they have one at work on the Graveyard Shift, dig?
any major gaming company in north America would run this game better.
I seriously beg to differ.
@DJSkittlesXD: As said above, there are in fact people present during the weekends. Of course the whole crew isn't there on weekends to fix things immediately because that would suck up a lot more money than any company can spare--especially one with [apparently] dwindling income, like Nexon.
Expecting that out of any company and calling it "professionalism" is the demand of a petulant child.
The stuff given at first before the hotfix wasn't supposed to be the reward given at that hot time. Calm down.
The fact they handled the hot time at 3 am is one display of professionals. They may not have a skeleton crew working on the weekends, but AT LEAST they still have one working late at night. Also, be grateful that nexon has a single person working on the WORKDAYS. They had ALWAYS had the ENTIRE staff absent from the Saturday TWO WEEKS BEFORE Christmas to the sunday the week FOLLOWING Christmas week. There was NEVER ANY new posts on the nexon watcher, never ANY scheduled OR unscheduled maintinences, and bugs and exploits threw the game into UTTER CHAOS on one occasion. Because the damage had been accumulating for more than two weeks before they had even HEARD about it, they realized that rollbacks weren't always the best, or even a GOOD, option. Since then, until recently ofc, they hadn't rollbacked ONCE for an economy affecting exploit, but instead tried the hellban-removal thing, which was flawed, people who spent good meso on bad items or sold good items for bad mesos would lose the items AND the money, while the exploiters would have traded all the illicit (and now worthless) goods they had accumulated for legit funding, which WOULDN'T be deleted bc they were LEGITIMATELY put INTO the game, which is all nexon could really tell about items, since items obtained by trading illicit goods can't actally be distinguished from the others, regardless of the LEGITMACY of their AQUISITION.
Another thing that they did professionally, is acknowledge their incompetency at their own ability to manually remove illicit items and mesos from the game by doing rollbacks again.
@DJSkittlesXD: i wasn't even choosing, you beep*
@DJSkittlesXD: I'm sorry, I'm a little lost now--when was this ever about respect?
OT: None of the recent issues have ever been the worst that ever happened or could happen. Nexon does have people on call to fix these things throughout the week, but they've said it themselves: It's hard to catch bugs that aren't reported to them, and economy-breaking exploits generally take a long time to come to their attention because nobody shouts about it from the rooftop.
this is where you are wrong: as maryse pointed out, even she is useless because there is absolutely no one she can come in contact with during the weekends. are you kidding with me? there was item duplication just a few days ago http://maplestory.nexon.net/news/news/current/00HOT/maplestory-rollback-update-2 (although i have to say nexon was lucky this time since it was release publicly on late sunday but there has been cases where nexon performed rollbacks over days.

not really, since you didn't show respect in your post, why should i bother much with you?
@DJSkittlesXD: I am amused that you'd link that video, given that the song has less to do with making fun of the verbose but rather highlighting the oversimplification of themes and discourse in the modern rap scene and the ostracism of the academically-inclined within the African-American community.
For a similar message about women in rap music, listen to Lupe's "B*tch Bad."
loosen up will ya, you take everything too serious and literal to the heart. anyway, you're free to prove me wrong.

guess you choose driving over computing... o.o
@DJSkittlesXD: your comparing an office desk job to a driving job.
okay.
@Pockii: No? Some people don't even spend money on this game. The people who do maybe fork out $1k a week but how many employees does nexon have....1K doesn't cover crap in a huge company like that.
@SnowShadow:
do they?
Well, first, you're whining about things of which you know little to none. So I'll humor you and give you some attention.
Second, I defy you to define professionalism outside of three arbitrary criteria.
Third...really? Nexon's a big boy now. They need no defending from a 12-year-old on a fan forum. I just want you to know that reading your post made me throw up a little in my mouth and you should feel bad.
like i said, prove me wrong.
tons of players play maple every day o_o
the game would be a lot bigger than it is currently in north america if nexon wasn't such an awful company. this games run like a scam, is constantly hacked, constantly exploited, and just run poorly in general. classes go unbalanced for years, overpowered classes are constantly released, the str stat has like 50 thousand classes, there still aren't 3 explorer archers, the economy is always messed up, etc etc.
Nothing new
tons of players play maple every day o_o
Doesn't mean they spend money everyday
Why would anybody want to work at 2am in the morning at a gaming company?
makes no sense.
better than working for delivering companies.
as far as i know, nexonNA is falling behind in terms of revenue. and just because you're making money, doesn't make you a professional.
tons of players play maple every day o_o
If you are so mad then join the rest of the haters and use illicit programs then annoy more people so it results in a never ending cycle of total destruction delivered to the game.

maplestory is a great game. nexon is a horrible company, any major gaming company in north America would run this game better.
