unable to get MS up plus website won't load since march 31
*EDIT* after a few days i did manage to fix this. i had to reset my router MAC IP and then the site worked again, then i had to reinstall the game, and it patched itself after that, so i'm back up and running without having to do something like system restore. i'll keep what i did in mind if i see anybody else having the same issues later on. thanks for any and all help :-)
ok so every site EXCEPT anything nexon loads for me. like i can go to google and wiki, facebook, school sites, nonprofit websites, ebay, etc... like look up recipes online, EVERYTHING works EXCEPT when i try to load nexon or maplestory.
ALSO when i try to use game launcher for maplestory the launcher thing comes up, all the stuff on that pages loads (like recent news, cash shop ads, etc...) i hit "start game" and then hack shield does it's thing, then nothing ... for minutes on end. i usually end up ctr+alt+deleting and force quit maple in the Processes via right click and end process tree.
i've obviously tried to go to maplestory site to start game like that too, but it won't load. i google maplestory and then click on that link and i get:
The connection has timed out. The server at maplestory.nexon.net is taking too long to respond.
I've checked my firewall and nothing is blocking access to maple. anything i'm missing ... like it's strange that i can't get on. this started yesterday, forgot to mention that, and NO this is not some april fools thing, like i noticed it when trying to log on yesterday morning and i'm still unable to play. I'd like to be able to play this weekend.

thanks all for the suggestions, i'm going to work on it tomorrow.
i've restarted my computer several times and that hasn't helped. my fiancee (using the same connection) has no problem viewing nexon related sites and she can get on MS no problem.
i've also tried IE instead of firefox to load the sites, so to me that indicates it's not a browser setting but something with firewall, but i've already checked that and access is enabled to all maple/nexon related stuff just as it has been for the 1+ years i've had this laptop.
i live in the US, east coast near philly, so that shouldn't be an issue.
i don't really want to have to resort to a system restore, but i guess if i have to ... it's just that NOTHING else is wrong with my computer, just everything nexon isn't working, and to me (a relatively tech savvy person) it doesn't make any sense that communication between my computer and a server i've been connecting to for over a year just doesn't work when i've made no changes. it's not like there was a patch that i missed or something, and it's not like something like that (or corrupted game files for that matter) would affect me not being able to go to the website. whatever, thanks for the suggestions so far, i'll look more into it tomorrow, especially the host file stuff, *thanks FINoob*
what part of the world do you live in? i heard of certain places being banned to their own ms version, EI ems. If this is not the casue and you live in a gms zone, try opening the page with a different web browser, try reinstalling, and check your connection speed. Some internet providers will throttle your dl speend if you go over your usuage. sry this is all i could think of. OH maybe if you have another comp at your hands, try open ms with that.
