Quick question about Os Hey guys I was just wondering, if I were to take out the hard drive of my old computer that had Windows XP on it and placed it in the new computer that I am building, would my computer read Windows XP or would I have to use installation disks? I'm just trying to see if I can save money at the moment since my budget is tight. Of course I would upgrade to Windows 7 eventually but I don't mind holding out on that, it won't really hinder the performance of my computer right?

Which headset should I get? Well I've decided that I'm going to get one of these two headsets, though I'm not sure which one. Specs wise the Plantronics win. But I really like the look of the TekNmotion Intruders and they look comfortable. Also with the TekNmotion I can use it with my phone so if I'm listening to music at home in my bed or something, I can use those and the mic is detachable. So what I wanna know is, do you guys think the specs of the Plantronics outweigh the convenience and look of the TekNmotion or is it the other way around. Which would you guys get?

Pc build, recommend anything else? Hey guys it's about to be summertime and I can finally build my own PC. I know I asked before but I changed some things up a bit and this is the new list that I came up with as far as parts go. Case: CPU: Motherboard: HDD: RAM: PSU: CPU Cooler: Of course I will be getting Windows 7, and I will also be using the optical drive from my old computer. I already have the GPU because my brother bought it planning to use it for his computer, but it didn't fit and he gave it to me. The GPU I will be using is this.. He bought it about a year ago lol and never got to return it because he threw out some of the original packaging. At least I didn't have to pay for it, and it is a pretty good card. Anyways, do you guys

Laptop having trouble reading Hdd Hey guys I ran into a problem with my dads laptop. He was doing a system restore on it to restore it to an earlier day this month (One of his card games that he plays stopped working so he was trying to fix it). In the middle of the restore, the laptop battery died and now the laptop won't boot up properly. It turns on and says starting windows but after that I get a command prompt saying it's unable to read the HDD and something about 4 partitions. If you need a picture I can supply one after the HDD diagnostics test. That brings me to the next question, I booted up the BIOS and I'm currently running a diagnostics test which is currently at 15%. What will this test do for me? Is it even useful? A system fo

Crossfiring 6970s, Psu Help Hey guys I just wanted to know if this 800W PSU would be sufficient enough to handle crossfired XFX Radeon HD 6970's. I already have one of them and plan to get one further down the line but I'd rather not have to purchase another PSU to replace the one I will be getting now just to do that, better to just spend a bit extra now and be able to do it whenever. This will be the PSU The other things that will be running on the PSU are going to be an overclocked i5 2500k, 5-6 case fans, ASUS P8Z68-V LX LGA 1155 Z68 ATX Intel Motherboard, Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive, Coolermaster hyper 212 CPU Cooler, standard DvD drive and finally 8 GB patriot viper xtreme series DDR3. Laptop Gpu Help I'm getting a laptop very soon and it's for a few things. Light gaming, watching anime, web browsing and some 3d modeling in programs like maya, 3ds max, autocad and revit. That's all I will be doing on this laptop. I know what I need in terms of processors and everything else but when it comes to GPUs, I'm not so sure. The laptops I'm looking at will have either GT650M or Radeon 7670M. I know the GT650M is the better card but I can get a laptop like $100 cheaper maybe more if I get the 7670M. Is the performance difference really that big though? The games I plan to play are WoW, GW2, SC2 and possibly any future games that are good. Thanks for the help guys.

Will the Gtx 970 see any sort of price drop? Hey guys, I'm building a computer in the middle of June and to my knowledge that's around the time the R9 300 series cards should be released. Rumors are saying that most of the cards are rebrands of the 200 series cards with only the high end cards showing major changes and use of HBM. I've never really looked at card prices when newer cards were released so I don't really know what to expect. My dilemma is that if I buy the GTX 970 today or tomorrow latest, I can get The Witcher 3 and the new Batman game for free. That's $120 worth of games. But if the 300 series will show significant improvement for the mid ranged cards and offer a better deal than what Nvidia is offering currently, I'd be wil

Building my own computer 2 Hey it's me again, I have a similar build to the one you guys helped me with before and I just wanted to check if everything would work fine. This time though I used MicroCenter.com, my friend recommended it to me today so I checked it out and the prices are cheaper than the others that I've seen. For example the I5-2500k is 220$ on NewEgg but only 180$ here. For those that missed my first thread, I already own a Radeon HD 6970 and I will be using that as my GPU. I know some of you said to get the I5-2400 instead of the 2500k since I don't plan to OC at the moment but it's cheaper if I get the 2500K. I eventually will OC and I will get the proper cooling when the time comes but at the moment I don't need it. Thoug

Turtle Beach x12 Hey guys I need a decent gaming headset for my xbox/PC and I was wondering, are these a good choice? For those of you that have it, is the mic too sensitive and is the feature where you hear your own voice from the mic annoying? Those are the only two things I'm worried about. I've been looking for a headset for a while now and I just can't decide. I made a thread before but and people mentioned getting a separate mic and headphones but I forgot to mention that I'd be using it for the xbox too. Also, separate question, where do you guys think I should pre-order halo 4 from? Here are the bonuses that each store offers Gamestop- Armor skin. Also, I can pick it up the same day as release. Best Buy- Armor skin, an in-game helme

Help me with Gpu Recently I upgraded one of my computers and it now works with the HD Radeon 6970 and I decided to take the previous card out and use it in one of my old computers. The older card is an HD Radeon 5450 or 5650, I forget. My problem is that whenever I put the card into the correct slot on my motherboard, the computer doesn't want to show anything on the monitor. Everything seems to be working, I just get no signal to the monitor. Even the onboard graphics doesn't work when the card is in, but when I take the card out and turn the computer on again, the onboard graphics works fine. I installed catalyst control center but that didn't work for me. I don't really know what to do. Help please! Thankd =D

This is the headset I'm looking to buy I really want this pair to be wireless and comfortable and I couldn't find anything better than these. Just to make sure I didn't overlook anything I wanted to check with you guys on basil.

Anyone here ever try to make mobile games? I've been thinking about this more and more recently. I'm not amazing at programming but I'm a very quick learner and I can pick it up as I go. I also have my brother for help in case I'm stuck, he released a messaging app for Android and is currently working on a 2d adventure game that's almost done. But yeah it's actually a huge market and it's only getting bigger. Did you know Candy Crush makes nearly $1million a day? I know, it's crazy. I have a few ideas I want to try but my best idea is probably the hardest. But yeah, any of you guys here ever try to release a mobile game or even have one released? What was it like?
