Your thoughts on purchasing used video games?
This is mainly for console users, since all you PC folk are using steam.
So whenever you're out at a video game store out to buy a video game, do you inch towards a pre-owned and used game or a new one? The used games can be around 10$ cheaper and offer a warrenty if they don't work. While the new ones are retail price and, well, are new.
So which ones do you prefer?

Meh, I play the new COD titles immediately when they come out, so generally I don't go for used games unless it's been recommended to me. It's been kinda hit and miss for me in the past, I've had some games that had messed up discs and were corrupted from being used and had to return them.
Ew, Steam.

For me it depends. Sometimes the used game could be missing things out the box like a code or the game booklet, or the box looks jacked up. If it's any of that then I prefer to buy brand new. Also some games I just prefer to buy brand new, especially if it only recently came out.
when i used to buy console games i always went for pre-owned because i'm cheap, but i never had a problem with any of the games. buying used gamecube games was actually p exciting because sometimes you'd find a memory card in the case
I always buy new games for my ps3. The only used game I bought was uncharted 2 and that was because it was $12. I also wait to buy video games till they are cheaper for new. Most of my games except for black ops 2 and assasins creed 3, I bought new for $20 (red dead, umvc3, arkham city, gta4, infamous, far cry3, etc)
i downloat all me gamer fromt he apple ap[p store on me ipad .. : o)
Used but recent purchases have been making me lean towards the new copy side
I always like new stuff, so I usually get new ones.
i always buy used.
I think used games are okay.
Just that Gamestop as usual overprices the hell out of things
If it's a "must-own", I would buy it 60% of the time. Things like pre-order bonus, stuff like that. If you count handheld consoles, then Etrian Odyssey IV is my own example.
Used games are my option, if it's a one-time play type of game (Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, and other overrated games).

For PC's used games / sales / bundles are the best options for the sake of cheapness. But I tend to support good indie games (Bastion for example) because it's well deserved.
I am a "PC folk" and i have never used steam and never will
Depends on the game, and how old it is.
I generally buy new to support the developers. If I can't get a new copy, then I will go for used.
For me it depends on the game.
For the franchise I love most I always go new, but half the time you can get a good game used for a great price so I go there often too. Especially for older games. Its like a gold mine
I would only buy a used game if it's a single player game. The last used game that I've bought was Red Dead Redemption roughly 3months after its release and I got it for like $50.
If the used game is WAYYY less expensive, I'll buy the used one. But we're talking ~$15 if it's a $60 game.
