there is absolutely nothing in this game i hate more then this line (other then maybe the letter b twice...)
i hate how people think spending money on maple is such a bad thing i mean seriously its a form of entertainment like anything you'd be spending your money on otherwise
people think its perfectly ok to pay for other forms of entertainment so why not this, its the same thing. people spend 30000 dollars to fill up an ipod and everyones perfectly fine with that but simply saying spending 100 on maple and people start flaming you? whats the sence in that, its the same thing - entertainment.
and before ANYONE trys to say "oh itll be wasted in a few years when you quit" i dare anyone to name one form of entertainment that lasts forever. there is no such thing as something that will entertain you for your whole life, so why is this any differant?
also most people spend more money on entertainment in a month then it takes to top felyx's or varsityhero's ranges. the average person spends about 15% of their income on entertainment of every kind, so why cant this be part of it. even if you're a child and you dont have a job i can guarentee you get money from somewhere and i can also guarentee you will spend at least some of it on some sort of entertainment. if you have fun playing maple then its no differant then watching a soccer game on FSC or listening to music on your ipod or even being part of a sports team for your school because these are all forms of entertainment that you do have to pay for.
if you dont want to pay you dont have to, but does it make the game more enjoyable? i can say personally it does and i know many others would be able to vouch for that too. if you dont feel like it would make the game more fun then don't do it, but you have no right to bash on other people because of their opinion, because we have freedom of speech.
*edit: also without NX spenders nexon wouldnt make money AND THE GAME WOULD GO AWAY

I only spend NX on permanent things or things that last forever until you use it up , and not some clothing that last for only like 2 month or something.
I usually spend NX on VIP hair, gachapon, or Scissors of Karma. I have only bought $24 worth of NX so far.
Yay justified Nx spending! . Nah, but really, I'm with you. It is also very annoying when people accuse you of the whole "mom's credit card" deal. I have my OWN credit card and pay my OWN bills, kthx. >:[
theres people that has paid over 100 bucks on thier apps for thier phones and not realizing it. i spend my money anyway i want. i could be wasting my money on fast food or some crappy game that just came out, and i know that has happened to at least 4 of ya; goin to gamestop to purchase one of the newest games by square or EA and realize you are 60 bucks broker. ive wasted money on so much trivial stuff and it doesnt bother me one bit. but im something of a baller

Its got to do with the fact that NX cash is optional.
If you were playing lets say, an Xbox or PS3. You are required to spend money on them.
Unlike in maplestory how it is optional.
The people who don't like to spend money on maplestory rage at the people that do spend money since the people who spend money are at an adavantage in maplestory.
Rather than a game like WoW where everyone is equal since the pay is mandatory.

It's quite genius really. And paying for entertainment is like paying for clothes every season... Eventually that black, feathered, shiny, sexy, lacy top is gonna be out of style, but you bought it now because it is awesome to you.
As long as you use it wisely (ex: permanent nx so you don't need to buy more) or in moderation.
when you buy nx its really just a donation, the stuff in the cash shop are just prizes you can redeem for supporting them.

There are kids who buy $5 lunches everyday at school, while i spend $3 on lunch. That's $2 everyday. Now think, $2 is equivalent to 2k Nx = 80mil.
Theoretically, if i spent $2 less everyday on lunch (which with $2 can only get u a bag of chips+cookies) then i could get 80mil in-game. Now think, how many maplers even have 80mil? All those maplers with under 80mil, i'm sorry to say, but u're worth less than 1 lunch snack.
Lets say the kid decides to buy a $3 lunch instead of a $5 for 5 days (1 school week). The kid with the $3 lunch just saved himself 400mil. NOW, how many maplers spend 100+ hrs playing and still don't have 400mil... Honestly, i'd be mad to know that i'm spending 100+ hrs and still dont have as much as the kid who decided to spend less on lunch for 1 week.
And, if u dont know, the avg lunch cost $3 at my school, so the kid isnt starving himself.
Don't get me wrong, I am totally against this person and people who spend countless amounts of money on this game
HOWEVER, theres the fact that to some people, video games are there thing just like how Basketball is my thing.
I spend like $500 a year on basketball (maybe if i buy expensive shoes) but thats probably the max. It wouldn't be different from someone spending similar amounts on maple a year. Even if its more, maybe its just more of a costly game for them.
Either way, ill stand on both sides.

I probably (since I'm a kid and don't have to pay for bills or any sort) spend most if not all of my money on myself (excluding giving presents).
A good chunk of it goes to entertainment (Maple (not anymore), xbox, and other games), and A LOT of it goes to food

@typicalwindian actually it is the same, either way you get the maple experiance, but if you pay for the xbox you have more fun, or if you pay for NX you have more fun its all in the form of entertainment but really its the same thing
@hotshotmario thats the big problem here its all about social standards, for some reason people have found a distinction between playing online games and other forms of entertainment that are conceptually the same as in they are all forms of entertainment. since the value of such entertainment is determined by the user, people are frowned upon for their opinion in that maple is funner then other things they could be doing, which is totally wrong because opinion is protected under the constitution

Well, I used to get movies and games at Blockbuster since the N64.
I even remember printing PokeSnap pictures out there, because they had the stand and everything!
But, now I use Netflix... My Xbox360 is much better for me. I wish Blockbuster would find out how to stream games to people. ;D
