Plagued by a powerful curse, this fallen king is bound to the grounds of his castle, doomed to wander them forever. He surrounds himself with a horde of powerful minions, the likes of which had never been seen outside the walls of his castle. Overlooking the icy valleys of El Nath, the Castle of Lionheart boasts a danger which would crush the will of all but the mightiest of maplers!
I'm really looking forward to this map, FINALLY, easier training (I hope). It's been a while since I've sketched anything, but I finally set some time aside to sketch this up. A fun piece for sure!

@TruffDigger Yes, I agree, it does ruin the consistency of the piece a little, but I don't agree that it ruins the entire picture. I wanted to incorporate the castle more intelligently than just simply slapping it in the background. Totally experimental, but I think it's something that I would definitely try again in future. As far as how maple related it is. It is completely and utterly maple-related. All these designs are based on monsters and characters designed for this new area. If it wasn't maple related, it would not have been accepted. look for the lionheart castle section in Spadow's blog, thats where I got my source images from.
@ramunsun Yes, I completely agree with you. I only realized that after I inked the lines on the head, by which I did after inking the body. fml. Also, if u look closely, you'll see that the eyes are slightly misaligned.
@ZapDoom This drawing look about 3 hours. My proper, fully furbished drawings take far longer, and are much less sloppy than this.
