LF> Skateboarders Help

My younger brother(15) wants to loose weight, I suggested skateboarding (It's possible, a few irl friends from highschool are...chubby and good at it.) Because I know all that jumping has to be healthy. Anyways, he's been skating somewhat on and off for a year and he comes to me with trouble kickflipping. Me having no clue how to help, I told him to make a video with the family camera and give it to me.

Ignore the talking in the background. Or atleast try to. Someone was on the phone.
+Yes we're black. SO?
+Yes he's on carpet. I don't know why. He says he likes to learn on the carpet then go outside. I was skeptical until he actually ollied down a 3-set.

Personally as a non-skater, I thought that skating on the carpet was stopping him from flipping the board. Idk.
Help me help him please?

I seen a couple things that I would change.
1.Try to get off the carpet, stationary skating is a lot harder then skating on the move.(maybe try kick flipping into grass or something else that wont mess up your bearings)
2.Tell him Flick with his toe, he was kind of pushing it wiith his entire foot.
3. move his foot forward more towards the concave.
When I was learning to kickflip it took a long time. That was one of the hardest tricks for me to learn besides hardflip.
Tell him to try standing off the board and popping it with his back foot then flipping it with his front foot.
AND BEING BLACK DOESNT MATTER IM BLACK AND HAVE SKATED FOR YEARS!

tell him to go to the skate park, skate with other skateboarders. i use to go to the globe everyday and not learn a thing but once i made a few friends, i had ollie, kick/heel flip, tri flip and a few no comply tricks down within a month. skaters motivate each other.

1. Never skate stationary, always ride when learning tricks because most of the time you'll be doing your tricks moving no stationary
2. Pop with your back foot, jump and slide your front foot up to the little concave thingy near the nose and kick out, extend your front leg out until you see the board is fully rotated and bring your front foot back to the board catch it in midair and land (Your back foot should follow after your front foot lands on it)
If I find someone to record i'll show you how to do it
EDIT: Took me ~30 min to learn to kickflip when I first started
ok i only watched like 30 seconds but i can give you a couple tips:
-dont skate carpet. i realize you're still learning the trick, but the "cushion-ey" ness of it kills your pop. and even besides that, i think it's harder to learn tricks stationary- try just moving slow
-lean forward more. the flicks are getting away from you because your weight isn't centered. this is also why your tail is staying low while your nose is still popping up.
-flick harder. saw a lot of flicks that didn't spin around at all, so try and kick it harder, in a motion like diagnolly down & away from the deck.
good luck, quote me if you need more help!
Thanks, is there anything else I should know?

God...with all this i feel like skateboarding myself now actually LOL.
Well, then for now, when kicking out the board to flip it, make sure you don't kick your foot over too far, that's the main reason why its being thrown away. Before you learn how to kickflip, I recommend learning how to pop-shove it, and frontside 180, just to learn how to better control it, plus they're fun.
He can pop-shove it (I think...) but not frontside 180
Tell him to learn how to control his board, he keeps losing it, and try skating up and off something and then doing it. I'd have to say learning to kickflip was the toughest transition I made.

Also, his ollies are way too low, you need to catch some air to be able to do a kickflip unless you're skilled with it.

-I'm indian and I have tan skin, but I have pale skin in game because it doesn't make my clothes correctively, though irl my skin color doesn't make a difference.
He just told me (I let him read this). That he isn't trying to catch, he wants to be able to flip it without spinning before working on catching it.

lol he almost took ur camera out.
Hes not really flicking it. hes just jumping and kicking it to one side. and hes not bringing hes front foot up enough. and hes ollie is also too low.
Personally I think its bad to to practice standing still and on carpet just because street is alot smoother and you wont be able to balance yourself if you dont get use to the feel. And the standing still part just because you can shift your board/body w.e without realizing it and its going to be hard to re-adjust.
um tell him to practice outside by chasing you and going fast and you jumping other obstacles which make him jump btw: if your black why is ur maple character white o.o
I'm on the track team so that would fail. I don't know if its the jump. He says when he flicks to flip, the board turns slightly.

also, look at my players; they're black/tan.
