Account Hacked Pin Problems
My brother account got hacked which makes no sense, because no one he knows even plays maplestory, and he never gave his ID anyway (or so he says), he didn't even log in for the past few days, and we scanned his PC 10 times already and there's no keyloggers.
He's not rich or popular so i have no idea how they got to him.
Anyway, we just used PIC/PIN reset on nexon's site, and now when we try to log in, it asks for the PIN, and the weird thing is you can type 6 numbers if you use your actual keyboard, and we tried using both our normal keyboard to type his 4 number pin, and the visual-keyboard thing, and we can't manage to get it to work.
Is it bugged or something? we sent a ticket and they said (by auto messege) that they don't reset PINs.
Are we screwed or is there anything we could do?
Also, assuming no one knows his account info, how else could anyone hack him?
Last question; He doesn't really care because i basically funded most of his stuff, should i slap him, kick him, or both?
Please help, he's threatening to hack the pentagon and then sell it and then buy Nexon with the money and then hack everyone's account. ;')

If they can hack the data-base why hack a player with 30m mesos and a nice weapon insted of hacking people with billion mesos-worth of items?

The PIC is what we restarted, the PIN is what we're having trouble with.

isnt there an option to change the pic anywhere? maybe in ur acct settings? there used to be

Most of the time, it's people being idiots getting keylogged. However, there ARE major break-ins that are not publicly known into the nexon SQL database every so often. Either that, or password hash exploits. As with SQL break-ins, the only thing you could possibly do is change your password before they break into your account, as they know your FULL password, linked characters and info. These are the most radical ones, and seldom happen. My guess is that the cracker sells the information to chinese meso site for them to exploit after hacking certain people.
As far as hash exploits go, if your password is less than 18 characters in length and constains special characters (%#! etc) as well as upper and lower case letters, it is generally un-crackable.[/quote]
His password wasn't easy but it didn't have any special characters.
Even if they knew his password, how would they know his PIC? O.o
We don't know exactly when, because he was busy lately so he only logged in last time like a week ago, and only yesterday we found out he got hacked, so it could be anytime between a week ago till yesterday.
He got a lot of items stolen and some untrade-able stuff dropped x.x
I tried logging in on another PC but his PIN is giving problems
