Lets talk about food

What food did you eat today, and how much did you spend? When did you buy restaurant food, and when did you eat home cooked meals?

Me :

Brunch @ McDonalds : Big Mac + small fries + unsweetened ice tea = $7.00 total.
Homemade lunch @ home : T-bone steak + Papaya salad + potato salad w/ grilled onions & garlic on top + mango/strawberry/blueberry smoothie = $6 for the steak, and probably around $2-3 for the other portion of items; $9.00 total.

Dinner : A cup of blueberries, and some cereal.

Hm.

Edit:

I... I guess I should add this to the thread:

How often do you guys eat out and how often do you eat at home?

Me:

I eat out at sit down restaurants a few times a week [moderately spending $30 ~ $50 each time] and rarely eat fast foods [I just had to get some food today lol].

Most of my home-cooked meals involve... I guess steaks. Or some sort of grilled meat + some sort of salad. I really need to learn how to cook something else lol

@silkym39:

College is great though! It's such a relaxed environment where the only person you're responsible for is yourself.

I usually eat out once a week or 2 weeks and spend around $20. Somehow I manage to only spend $80 - $100 a month on groceries.

Also if you use cocaine as a coffee whitener it holds you over a bit better.

raisin bun + coffee for breakfast: $1.88
pasta + cranberry juice for lunch: $10 total for 4 days a week
veg/chicken/fish + soup: free

I almost never eat/buy lunch at campus, the food is expensive and it doesn't taste that good. The only time of the day where I actually spend money on food is for breakfast, $1.88 for a raisin bun and a cup of coffee

I usually go to a restaurant once or twice a week. Went out for dinner last night to a Eastern European restaurant, 4 of us, including drinks came to $490. It's currently 11am here so I've only had breakfast today which was cereal and fruit, so probably <$2.
