I think it's level 30, and then after that the higher the level of the character the better the effect.

And yea, like @Ouhai said, second and third jobs are tough, but in 4th job it gets so much better.

Because it's level 37. Just keep going; it gets better.

We are very strong unfunded, but that happens at 4th job lol

I like how everyone being overall unhelpful aren't even f/p mages.

F/P mages have always been notoriously difficult/very boring to raise from 2nd and most of 3rd job (which is one of the main contributing reasons why there aren't that many f/p mages around in general) Especially for 2nd job, I/L wizards will always outclass F/P wizards simply because thunderbolt is slightly faster, stronger, and is an AoE attack rather than a linear mobbing attack like poison breath. When it comes to 3rd job, you're on par with I/L mages because of the poison mist and fire demon but suffer from a slow casting Explosion when using a regular staff. I/L still have a slightly easier time in 3rd job though simply because their AoE move Ice Strike is at a fixed speed, allowing it to be used more versatility than a move that is affected by weapon speed (Explosion). Also Ice Strike is pontetially stronger than explosion because of being able to hit more times and each hit having a chance to crit.

Basically, to make it to 4th job as an f/p, you gotta really want it and genuinely be able to have some fun with their underwhemling performance in 2nd and 3rd job.
Think of it as using a Magikarp if you've played Pokemon: It's hard and boring to raise but with enough devotion will turn it into a horrifying monster who can wreck stuff up with raw power.

F/P's don't seem to be that great before 4th job and if they are, it's in 3rd job when you have most of your DoT skills. My friend about quit hers in 2nd job from how terrible it was. Once you get Mist Erruption in 4th job, you'll be able to see the higher numbers, even with little funding. Just be able to understand DoT (I'm ashamed of how long it took me to understand how to execute it).

For some reason, Nexon decided to make Thunderbolt much stronger than Poison Breath at level 1. It evens out when you max the skills.

@StrangeFate I already got it to lv 57. So 20 levels from earlier today. I'ma keep playing it lol .. Especially since Tempest is soon >.>

I don't think that a fire poison is for you. You need lots of patience for it. Lots and lots and lots.

dont forget ur DoT, try to use it as much as u can and like people saif f/p isnt that strong before 120-130

You shouldn't have added any LUK at all. Not that it matters anyway due to the 29th. You shouldn't really be that damage conscious until fourth job or at least level 100+. By then you should have your core skills maxed and be able to wear actual gear that matters. Until then just enjoy the mage for what it is and does. Never use Fire Arrow its useless all other skills are maxed except Fire Arrow which stays at one SP.

Your main move Poison Breath will appear weaker because it also includes damage called residual damage AKA Damage Over Time. This is a concept you must learn if you ever hope to be even a decent F/P Mage. So even if your initial hits seems weak you're also still doing what a normal character would be, by the poison damage.

@MyTiramisu Thanks for an actual answer (and for everyone else who gave me an actual helpful answer as well). People thought since I was wondering why I was so weak I was complaining .__. Don't worry about it. I think f/p 2nd job is the weakest 2nd job in maple I believe? Anyhow, your damage will be good in 3rd job and great in 4th. So yeah....you are meant to be weak in 2nd job.

I think you need more strength.

Edit: And yes I will repeat this one more time. I am maxing my skills. I'm using llmapler's guide as well so I don't mess up. I'm at level 45 I believe? My damage went up to 1.2k-1.9k c: & putting all my AP into Int.

2. Max your skills.

I was not asking a question there. And the "Not even 1k. What the hell is this?" is because I heard F/Ps are stronger than I/Ls but my I/Ls was stronger than that.

thats pretty noob damage. at level 37 i was hitting EASILY 801 damage on my i/l. you must be doing something wrong try aiming for about 60% int and a 20% scrolled level 35 petal staff with around 90% boss

2nd job f/p is hell. which is why i stopped leveling mine at 61 ish until tempest

At third job, you shall begin to see the true power of the Fire/Poison Mage!

OT: Stop qqing about your damage at level 37, you didn't even max your skills yet.

Level up to 140 and then you'll be in a better place.
