Updates

My MapleStory client takes forever to start up

I'm trying to run it on my old Windows XP desktop, but it takes forever to start up. I've already tried updating my graphic card, but it still takes forever to load.

Any tips and suggestions would be helpful. [=

You can buy PC parts instead of buying a whole brand new PC.

I have the same problem. I asked MapleSec about it. (Yes, I'm aware they are hackers, that's why I picked them. They know computers.)
Anyway, I was told it's caused by the WZ files taking a long time to load.

It usually just freezes then after like 5-10min, it would close on its own. Sometimes I'm able to get on, but that's once in awhile and when I do I can't go into the main part of the town or else I'll lag really badly and disconnect.

Maybe your PC is dying out since it's old

And that on-board gpu only has 128mb of memory

Have you played Maplestory on this computer before? Or is this the first time you've installed and tried loading it?

List PC specs, disable any unnecessary programs

First-time client start up will always take long
