What are your lucid dreaming experiences?

What are your lucid dreaming stories? What would you like to do in your lucid dreams? And how did you induce lucid dreaming?

I'm crappy at lucid dreaming. ): I remember having one as a kid about flying downstairs in my house but I didn't realise that this was lucid dreaming until I learnt about it a couple of weeks ago. I had another yesterday except it only lasted for about a few minutes, and it was about my dog which I accidentally turned into a giant purple wolf when I was thinking about grapes.

For those who don't know what lucid dreaming is, it's when you're aware that you're dreaming and so you can control your dreams. [:

Thinking back, one dream that I had was both lucid and reoccurring. It always takes place at night during a very heavy thunderstorm and it's always in vivid black and white. Don't imagine it like a black and white film, but like real life if colors didn't actually exist. In it, I'm driving my father's black Lincoln Aviator SUV, which I never drive in real life as I dislike it, and either the perspective is first person or third person of myself. There are others in the vehicle, but I don't know who they are. The trip is up a cliche looking spiral mountain with a narrow street barely fit for a single car/truck with a guard rail that couldn't stop a shopping cart from destroying it upon impact.

As I'm driving up this mountain (ends in a point at the top?), I can feel the very wetness of the road. It's moist and gritty and there are large flashes of lightning every so often which illuminate the sky, the road, the dashboard/steering wheel, but of course all in black and white. I lose control of the truck, it smashes through the flimsy guardrail, and the truck plummets off the mountain toward crashing waves! The P.O.V. slips between first and third person during the fall and the truck submerges itself into the ocean after the long drop.

I usually wake up after this. I've had this same dream many times like I mentioned and it's always eerie.
Most of my dreams are Lucid, and I don't know why. I rarely have non lucid dreams.
I control most of my dreams by rewinding them, in a sense. If I do not like the direction, or events of my dream, I rewind the events, and revise them as I will.

As of late, most of my dreams involve me creating art, going to school, or flying in space. I don't remember any specific dreams ATM though.
LOL, nice. i did this too, mainly with nightmares. (way before prince of Persia came out)
Since you ARE the lucid dreamer type, try not to control your dreams. it adds a surprise element making your dream more interesting.

@NotZach Yeah the concept of time in dreams are really weird. They may seem like days or a matter of 4 seconds.
And when you have a notion that you are going to wake up, it kinda sucks. Even though I was able to control my dreams
(id like to think I mastered it to a good extent) but the adding the perception of waking up seems to speed up time/rushing dreams
and makes me frustrated when I wake up.

@Mafinhaa For me nightmare or not have a dream makes me "have a good nights sleep". But waking from it in the middle of the night sucks.
For me its better to dream and wake up with fear in the morning then not dream at all.

@Tate Gotta start off small bro, and practice. Boxing dreams are fun

@Fynel interesting nightmare, in my opinion, the only thing prolly made it lucid is that
you made (maybe): your dad the ghost, you constructed the house in the image you wanted,
and picked where you wanted to go and what you wanted to say.
-I liked the part where you told your dad off, even though you would never do that in real life.
Shows you have great respect for him (maybe, im just assuming)
-it was an interesting dream, question why you were scared and do something about it (in your dream)
-try to have the same dream again and do things differently, when I have nightmares and "lose", I try to have the same dream over and over til I win

@Yukimura yes it does need a lot of practice. and wtf once you know your in a dream
You can do anything and be anything: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1ChhO57D7k
The best part is you can do stuff you wouldnt do, or be a person your not.

I just realized that my dream last night was very strange. I was hanging out with my best friend and Minerva (yes the Greek god). But we were ponies! The since apparently I'm a bad person my best friend made this thing called the friendship nice rock pillar. So i could only be nice to people. Then my best friend tried to take over the world.

Oh God, why

P.S. I am not a MLP fan
WOOHOO! Thanks for that! It was really interesting!

So to induce lucid dreaming did you basically use the WILD (if you know that means... if not, then I can explain it) technique?
I tried it once except I never got it because I fell asleep. ):

And ouchh, yeah, I've heard of people free falling in their dreams. Some of them are lucid and they always say that they get jolted awake really violently.
I think I've had a few of those, but they were never that high - probably slipping from a rock or something.
Although, I think you can control your fall by willing gravity to go away because I guess that since we're so used to gravity being a part of our real life, your subconscience just sort of makes it exist in your dreamscape? I'm totally not sure.

I think the reasons why I can never remember my dreams are because I NEVER do the things that you suggested.
I tend to sleep really late (about 1 - 2 am) which is horrible because I wake up extremely groggy and because of school, I'm always rushing so I don't stay in bed for long.
-yeah id like to know what is the wild technique. i dont know it.
-I can actually fly in my dreams and have super powers like control gravity.
I used to watch alot of cartoons. *reminds me of being superman, or
being in Vegeta's gravity weight room. i was even spiderman swinging and stuff.
But by the end of the dream i start to go down. By then im like... awww dream is almost over. *shock then pain
Basically i try not to dream of high places or being in airplanes to avoid the pain.

yea i only get dreams if i sleep early or if im drunk

Last night i tried to dream... *slept at 11:00 which early cuz i normaly sleep at 12:30 or so
My dream: My alarm clock rings, im sleeping. *i reach for it to turn it off. it had the right sound/alarm tone.
i look at screen, it was the right time my alarm clock is set. i lay back down (wake up in real life but doesnt get up)
Real life: waiting for secondary alarm to really wake up. Doesnt ring.... waits for like 20mins.
Double checks why the heck its not ringing. The time was 5:30! So i woke up at 5:10, real alarm normaly goes off
around 5:52, and i get up at 6:00.
Basically i got trolled by my dream....i tried to get an extra hour of sleep but nope
Dreams are a lot more fun/funny if you dont control it

Whenever I lucid dream I can sense that i'm going to wake up so i'll fight to stay asleep and it's usually like that scene in Howl's moving castle where Sophie is running through the darkness.

As a kid i used my imagination a lot as i played with my action figures and stuffed animals.
Making up story lines and dialogs. When i close my eyes i can easily make rainbows come out from my hands. (if i wanted to)
Just like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4sUPvDZfog

To induce my lucid dream, i first start of with closing my eyes, thus creating a black slate for my imagination.
I can then use a memory or a cartoon feed and insert it into my dream. From that i use my imagination to control my dream.

At first i couldnt control my dreams 100%, or i couldnt pick which dream to have it was random. But i did have some say.
I can check if i am in a dream if i can create matter out of nothing with my mind. if i cant then im not in a dream. (for me)
A good way to practice Lucid dreaming is "When you know you are dreaming" Draw in your dream. i cant draw for anything
in real life. But when i draw in my dreams.... Lets just say i can get front page in basil

Nightmares would be awesome. i loved it. Something i fear (an uncontrollable in my dream) i would have to face.
For example i had many battles with Chuckie the killer doll or Fready who had some control of my dreams as well.
Other notable battles were with candy man (guy with a hook) and Jason. Most of the time i would win, but sometimes i lost.
When i woke up after a lost my heart beat was super fast which was exciting.

Eventually i got so pro at lucid dreams, i would dream of me sitting down and watching TV. As i watched the TV the show
it would be my main dream, but if i got bored or didnt like the dream i can easily change it, and have a completely new dream.

I eventually found 3 dreams i couldnt control.
1) Falling from the sky- basically the dream is im free falling in the sky. i can make the fall enjoyable by giving my self a
glider, para-shoot, a board to do spins, and even that appendage that flying squires have. But at the end i ALWAYS hit the
ground HARD! and id wake up feeling that pain throughout my entire body. Id tear from the pain.
2) A childhood memory where i said something bad. And regret my entire life.
3) As a guy.... i dream of the "dirty-dirty", in my dream i can hear my self say "stop, stop, stop" it doesnt work well in most cases.
The best i can do is to force myself walk up. 80% of the time i can wake myself up. The other times i failed....
Eventually, ive come to realize controlling dreams isnt as fun any more. Its good to be all knowing and all powerful in my dreams but it gets Boring.
Dreams became no longer fun. So now when i dream i just let it do what it wants (randomness). Much more fun than controlling my dreams.
There is a surprise element.

But the hardest part of dreaming itself is MOST people dont remember their dreams
Here are my hints if you want to remember your dreams. This may work for you, or it may not. But it works for me.
1)Sleep early *continuously
2)Dont drink water/milk or other liquids before you go to sleep. A few times i really had to pee in a dream, bad results.
Also, if you have to pee that can wake you up. And most likely you will forget about your dream.
3)Most importantly: When you wake up, dont be rushed. The second you wake up, DONT MOVE! and dont think about what your going
to do for that day, Try to remember what you did in your dream. If you do remember, repeat it a few times in your mind.

@ellzzrawrr i hope this helps you, or gives you insight

the only lucid dream i can remember was basically like a slasher movie (more along the lines of Scream) and about forty minutes into the "movie" i realized it was a dream while in the bathroom. then things got weird for a few minutes and i woke up.

OOHOOHOOOH, I was going to do this reality check where I would write a letter on my wrist and every time I saw it, I would ask myself if I was dreaming. Except I realised that pen poisoning probably wouldn't be worth lucid dreaming.

Arghhh, I know how you feel. ): And I can never remember my dreams much so I can't try out lucid dreaming regularly. ):
Normally when you know you're dreaming you lose control, you have control when you don't realise you're dreaming. That's my opinion at least.
perhaps, but lucid dreaming is the state of dream where you have awareness, and control of your dream

i seem to never dream,
or maybe i just forget instantly..
