Patriotism vs Capitalism

The two seem to correspond in society, but in reality, they should be held entirely separate.

Patriotism is sincere care about the well-being of your society, not about lauding an economic structure.
A nation can thrive on socialism (sweden), and still have nationalistic citizens.
In America, it seems any possible legislation that drifts from capitalism is shot down and deemed unpatriotic.

Thoughts?

The simple fact that he hates what we hate isn't enough to warrant what he's for, imo
That's the result of politicians (shepherds) being for-corporations (aka, corrupted and bribed,) and the people who look up to them (the sheep) not knowing anything. It's also the result of people who don't understand that money is just.. money, and that losing money for the sake of happier people is what money is used for.. Yes, if we had socialized health care, and higher taxes because of it, the average person would be losing money, the government would be losing more money (by spending more,) but we'd have healthier and happier citizens. The people who are 100% against welfare because, while it's true that welfare is a loss of money, it's not a waste because it's used for the well-being of people are prime examples of those who value the money over the well-being of a person. Everyone knows that welfare is a loss of money, but the question is not "how to not have a loss," but "how much of a loss is worth it." The people who are against everything are just people who don't value a person's well-being more than the money.

Getting a little off-topic and irrelevant because I'm a really political person.
Nvm, I don't really want to talk about politics.

It's called The American Song.. by a certain comedy troupe.

I meant more along the lines of people saying that social health care is bad because it puts insurance companies at risk, even if it could potentially benefit the entire nation.
