Why dont we just die?

First off let me say that i know that no one wants to die but ever since i was younger i always wondered, if we have enough Bombs to annihilate the Earth hundreds of times over why dont we just do it? Why dont we just blow up the planet we live on?
When i was younger my thinking was, say the United Nations decided to bomb the Earth and we all died well then there would be no one to "blame" because we'd all be dead,
Now i know it wouldnt be as easy as just pressing a button and if word ever got out the people from the UN would probably be stopped but i mean for the time being we are all alone in this Galaxy/Universe so no one will find our planet and say "wow these idiots blew up their planet"

It's a stupid question to ask but i thought about it when i was a kid and i still come back to it every now and then. Like, we can just end everything.
I'd like to think that they've made some kind of Documentary or Article asking this question or you know that one Youtube channel Vsauce where that guy asks stupid questions and then answers them.
I cant help but ask myself if this a Human/Life thing, that we just dont want to die and we want to "grow" or is it just common sense as in there is no reason to kill ourselves
I just always thought it was interesting. I mean i for one die if it meant that everyone on the planet was also dying, in a weird way it just sounds cool

Anyways, your thoughts? Agree or Disagree?

most things want to live
if there was ever a species that instinctively wanted to die, i'd guess they'd have probably died out by now

anyways, in general death is no fun. everything just becomes black. there's no happiness, no regret or sadness, not even relief, just nothing. it doesnt matter what happens to you after you die, and it doesnt matter if you're remembered. there is no difference between being remembered as a hero and having some guy piss on your ashes after you're dead. nothing matters anymore; you might as well have never existed.

so in most cases living is waaaay way way better than dying
That's what school shooters and nilihists believe. They usually get into a mindset where they believe that humanity is better off not existing for whatever reason (racism, sexism, any other form of discrimination) and then go out by taking as many people as they can with them. Remember Elliot Rodger and his manifesto? Might be worth a read if you're interested.

Anyway, there's a reason why people like that typically don't rise to positions of power where they can inflict institutionalized harm on others.
And others just believe that themselves are better off not existing.

If anyone has a good life, why would they give it up? All the people in power have decent lives. The only people who would benefit from death have no power.

"we have enough Bombs to annihilate the Earth hundreds of times over"

Annihilate the Earth? No. We definitely do not have bombs big/strong enough to blow up the planet. We do have enough nuclear weapons to wipe out a considerable portion of the Earth's population (if they were targeted at our most populated cities) - but we definitely could not literally blow up the Earth.

I get what you're saying but the main reason is because as you said we (normal people) don't think like that. That simply won't happen because its not something we want, maybe you'll get what you want if you make a movie that revolves around that plot but in real life, right now, we have no reason to think like that and it would take a very, very evil miracle for that to happen at all in forever. It is interesting to think about though, in my opinion your question probably falls somewhere within the "What is the purpose/meaning of life?" question or some kind of existential crisis discussion.

You're borderline stereotypical video game villain status right now.
your basically saying why dont we die just for the fun of it
cause it might not be fun for everyone else
yea, i understand that but still if they're dead what are they going to do? Im talking hypothetically and in secret, that is that the general public doesnt know that they are about to die, if it was this whole thing like they said "Hey we are going to blow up the Earth on January 1st" then of course chaos would ensue.
