Evan, I/l, or Battlemage
I just made a fighter and I still plan on playing phantom (when I'm rich enough to afford any of their stuff o.o), but I've been playing a pally since BB (finally hit 200) and I love him and all, but I kinda want a change of pace. I heard % int equip isn't too expensive, and I've always wanted a mage, so why not now? I just don't know which one I want to make. I'm considering Evans, I/L, and battlemages, and I'd like to know a couple of things. First of all, do they all just use empress equips, or do I need to get them ewands/staves? How are they with training and bossing? And are any of them more expensive than the others (not including any NX I'll have to buy for a battlemage or evan)?

You hit a lot more in total with ele than with empress, even if the numbers are smaller
Think of it like this: Empress --> 100k, Ele --> 80k
Empress 1 hit per sec = 100k
Ele 2 hit per sec = 160k
You get more overall, and those numbers are completely fake but it's an example.

Once again, big words.
I can clean most bosses solo. Even if it's because of my funding, that just serves to show that with funding, it doesn't really matter which class you choose.
Even if some reach cap with less funding than other.
And ''sucking at boss'' doesn't factor our survivability, which is better than the 2 other mage classes mentionned here.
Anyways, it's up to OT. I already made my case in my last post.

Barely, and that's not even that you'd be draining slower and cornering mobs slower as well.

- Good unfunded char with insane mobility, decent party skills and good survivability? Evan
- Poor unfunded char with average mobility, good party skills, awesome survivability? Battle Mage
- Good-average char with average mobility, no ''useful'' party skills, good-average survivability? I/L mage.

Honestly, go with I/L or Evan, Battle mages suck monkey balls at dealing good 1v1 damage without funding right now.
Pre-revamp, even hitting cap on FB+Tele just barely catches up to the speed of CL.
The "%INT is cheap" thing is only partially true; for more generic items 6~9%INT is cheaper yes, but once you start getting into the funded area mage items become increasingly rare. For example, on a black market site, I've seen dozens of %LUK and %DEX items and quitting sales, a handful of %STR, and maybe 3 or 4 %INT threads, one of which is mine.
Weapons aren't too bad though, I see quite a few Ele staffs and Empress wands/staffs.

Evan! BaM are weak unless u r VERY WELL FUNDED - by that i mean heaps of %int and an awesome (perfect scrolled) ele staff. Yeah, there's revamp - but i still think evans are stronger when not-well funded.
Evan: empress is fine; BaM/IL: ele would be better if u can afford it.
Evans: Wands; BaMs: staves; I/l: either.
U need nx for evans, not for BaMs or I/L though. All other expenses should be quite the same (just %int and ma. equips etc.)
Evan always wins
