Still no shield user

All these duplicate weapon and only slightly new weapon variant classes/jobs and none of them use shields as their primary weapon. Even if it was a special weapon class called "Battle Shield" to keep them from needing to modify existing shields it'd be great. On top of that it could have a switch spell to convert some shield defense into attack. Just think of all the neat skills they could have. Shield based combat is great and I try to utilize classes that can have shields as their primary weapon.

I know, Nexon should just make the Riot Shield Man class.

@errorreport: DC game is bad example... captain America throws shield turns it into a boxing match then catches shield in almost every show/comic/movie i seen
kingdom hearts bad reference but then again i felt that everyone in party was mostly useless

other 2 never heard of
Just looked it up. They actually get 3 or so shield based attacks. While they're neat it isn't quite the shield focused class I'd like to see.
Yea it just came to mind

In a few games I've played, like Zenonia, shield charges are actually one of the most powerful attacks, presumably because you just full out bash into your enemy.
even when shields are used as a weapon...
they are never used as a main weapon

tho im pretty sure most mage shields would be able to do some real damage being most the shields made up of whats made to look like a magic barrier
I've played a couple games. I know the MMO DC Universe allows you to spec and use your shield as the main weapon. I believe in Aion when I played as Templar there were a variety of decent shield attacks. Torchlight 2 allowed me a fair amount of shield usage. There are a few others I cannot instantly recall. It's unfortunately uncommon. I enjoyed how Goofy in Kingdom of Hearts used shields.

Assuming a shield being a main weapon, the class would have to have an excruciating amount of defense putting them on par with paladins-and may piss off the paladin community as well. They'd have to have some attack put onto shields in order for them to even do anything and even then that may pose a problem with shield using warriors making prices change along with shield attack scrolls which are already a pain to find. Unless they are a special class specific designed shield then it might be easier.
It would be a neat idea to see, but they'd really have to work on some damage formulas...

anyway wouldn't a class like that need mobs to attack it i mean most time only way a shield does damage to a enemy is if they run into attacking blindly

How exactly would you fight and hit things with a shield? It sounds kind of awkward in my opinion...

Thats actually a pretty good idea Think of the class names possible too... personally I like something along the lines of Onyx Guard or Onyx Defender
