Yeah people drink alcohol for the effects never the taste really.

Before you take a shot, inhale, drink it. then exhale. That way you push out some of that gross alcohol aftertaste so it doesnt go up your throat etc.

Get a good bartender, they can make a terrible night worthwhile.

Cognac is alright, has a weird taste after drinking a glass. Rum has a really strong taste when it goes into your stomach. Whisky and Brandy have a nice warm feeling as it goes down your throat. Tequila has a sharp feeling when it touches your tongue. Vodka only taste bad if you decide to get a big whiff before downing it. Gin has a vintage stale taste if drank alone. Wine can be very dry depending on the food you're having.

@Squeezy: Grey goose is not the cheapest vodka on the market. Those cheap quantity over quality plastic bottled variants like Iceberg are.

The taste of alcohol just urks me. I think the only one that tastes good is Baileys original.

I don't drink for the taste... If I wanted something delicious I'd have a smoothie/milkshake. Though, some alcoholic drinks taste pretty good. Just down it, and down some more until you're drunk. I personally only use vodka to get drunk fast.

Vodka, isn't girly by itself. Its just that many girls drinks are made from it. Whisky can be made into a whisky sour which is pretty feminine, but no one calls whisky a girly drink. I agree though that beer is the best, although I do love a Jack on the rocks from time to time.

I wouldn't drink something that smells like rubbing alcohol.

I drank it straight up at first, but it tasted so terrible. And I heard mixing it with stuff makes it taste better. I mixed it with coke, not juice.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

Lick some salt + shot + lime afterwards = close to no taste

When it comes to beer, I preffer Guinness. When it comes to other alcohol, whiskey, and Jägermeister.

i resent your classification of vodka as a woman's drink because that's an idiotic thing to say in any capacity, but i'll agree it's disgusting. for me it's like coriander (or cilantro if you're an asshole) in that it gives this awful soapy/chemical acridity to anything it touches and i'd personally rather drink something that tastes nice

Grey Goose is probably the cheapest and easy type of vodka. But usually if you're drinking just to get destroyed than do shots.
Easiest way to take a shot is with a chaser and knowing how to take a shot.
Take the shot and chaser while holding your breathe. You might want to practice this beforehand because it's harder when you're drunk.
Don't sip it either.

Women's drink? I don't really get that term... beer is extremely easy to ingest and anyone with the slightest bit of tolerance can drink it. Vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, etc., are not drinks that anyone can handle, let alone a large amount of. Many women I've seen cannot handle more than a couple of shots.

Edit: I see that you mix the drink with other drinks. There's your problem. You don't mix it. You drink it and get it over with. Mixing it with anything will legitimately waste whatever it is you're mixing it with. If you want to use anything, you can use a chaser, because that gets the lingering taste out faster, but it will always taste the way it does. Just get used to it..

No it doesn't. So much worse. Well except for stout beer, but even stout beer I can handle better.

I usually mix my vodka with Sprite or Mountain dew. You'll get use to it. If you don't like it still, just stick to your soft beer.

That's why you drink it straight and get it over with. Don't mess around with any of this girly stuff like mixers or flavored vodka.

Vodka & cranberry juice is really good so that's how I drink it if I have to have vodka, but still I usually just pick beer over anything else.
