Hello Basil! In the Fall im beginning my Freshman year at University. My concern is student loans, how exactly would I go about obtaining more student loans than what im getting through Fafsa?
Try to apply for as many scholarships as you can, some scholarships need a minimum amount of applications in order for the money to be given out. Also if you plan on getting ahead during the summer/winter don't count out community college. Just make sure that the course you take will transfer over.
Thanks, Ive had winter/summer in mind to do at community colleges
Thanks for your input, right now I'm applying for many scholarships, and Im choosing to attend a university because I plan on studying music education, and in my area I wont get the most out of my studies going to community college first. I understand a ton of debt is bad however Im not going anywhere unless I take some kind of debt

How about you don't take out a college loan and end up paying it back for the rest of your life? If you don't have the money to go to a big uni/college, than just go to a community college for 2 years and transfer instead of being in debt. It's not like your degree is going to say "Biology degree, went to this community college for 2 years, then transferred here". If you take out a loan you're going to be in debt for a LONG time. Just take the cheaper route or get a scholarship. You learn the same things in your first year or so at every college, doesn't really matter where you go to take it. Biology is biology, english is english, math is math, w/e else you can think of, too.
I would just mass apply to scholarships..since you don't have to pay those back. Otherwise, I THINK you could petition for more if you really can't pay. Be warned of student loans though - most of recent graduate Americans are basically in trouble because of it.
