-Noise-canceling headphones- I use them everywhere: at home, on the bus, in the library to tone-down them loud voices.
-Tangle Teezer Hairbrush($13)- Makes my hair soft and tangle-free
-A watch- Helped improve my time management
-E-blue Mazer Mouse($20)- Best mouse ever srs. Check it out.
-Apple-shaped post-it's($1?)- So cute makes me use them more often
-Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug($30)- Keeps my tea cool, I carry it around everywhere and I don't have to drink nasty bottled water anymore

@Fade2BlacK: In passing no one really realizes the brand names. I bought my boyfriend a $140 Armani watch for christmas and he still gets complements on it.
what kind of mask/exfoliation do u use and would you recommend it to someone with sensitive skin

OT: A watch. Brings sophistication to your look and endless complements. You can often get really nice ones on sale in the $100 price range in department stores.
Dark, slim fitting denim jeans that fit you perfectly. You can dress them up or just wear them with a t-shirt and look great
The only thing I've bought so far from this thread... Check out my $10 Rolex People buy watches as a token of their wealthiness. I happen to buy watches as a token of my wealthlessness. Nothing special but I like the simplicity of it. I got one more for the practical aspect for telling time when I can't take out my phone than the fashion aspect. My philosophy on watches is go big (>>$100) or go home, so for now I'm homeless.

*shrugs*Could be better... could be worse... good seeing you around.
Set a timer to brush my teeth for 3 minutes. (Located next to bathroom mirror)
Automatically text my parents when I'm home and turn on Wifi (Next to door)
Set my phone on vibrate and disable connectivity when I'm sleeping or at work. (Next to bed)
Turn on my computer via Wake on LAN
Use the NFC keychain as a quick dial ie call 911
Turn on bluetooth and open play music in car
Attach to washing machine to set a timer when it's finished
Put a tag on your laptop to enable wifi tethering
Definitely will consider getting some NFC tags in the near future. I'd imagine it'd be a great extension for Tasker. I'm already using printed QR codes for some applications of NFC tags.
Depends on what type of cat you get. If you get one from a random person or just any breed, chances are it will long to be an outdoor cat. They're less work overall but also significantly less rewards. You also have to deal with them having fleas. Training them to be indoor and outdoors is really tough and time-consuming with minimal results with some of the more wild cats.

I recommend you get one from a reputable breeder. Doesn't have to be pure-bred, you can usually find mixes that aren't valuable on the high-end market but are perfectly domesticated and beautiful in their own right. I suggest going for some Siamese cat that isn't pure-bred. Very, very nice kittens, all they ask of you is about an hour or less of attention every-day along with a couple of petting and stroking them whenever you pass by them along with an open lap. Easy to train them, I've trained mine to sleep under the covers with me.

OT:

Any of the pets I've bought, though some have been slightly above the $100 mark but whatever. I have expensive tastes. Aside from that, my tea sets along with the teas I get to purchase and any book that I've read while drinking some tea. Alcohol is technically a drug but I'll count it in anyway since I suspect that's not what you had in mind when you said drugs. Something about alcohol that I really enjoy. Not getting drunk, just drinking it steadily throughout the day.

Aside from that, just any good home decoration that's been under $100 falls into this category.
Thanks for the advice. Yeah... nowadays I'm ever so slowly evolving my tastes towards wine from beer partly because I afford the decent ones.

Nice to see you around again, I recall Basil celebrating your 18th a while back too, so if you tell me how old ya are now then i'll know how many years its been since i've talked to you (underwear buddies on basil avatars hehe)
Nice seeing you too. I'm 23. Time goes by so fast the older and older you get.

@geologyrox : Ouuu, I'll be sure to pick up a sample of that. I'm using La Roche Posay's Anthelios. It's ok. I don't like buying full-sized products, cus I always like to switch it up. Lol

i've been using shiseido hada senka and i really like it, it doesn't give me a white cast and it doubles as a primer
i really want to try their urban environment sunscreens and the biore perfect face milk but it's so ass how they can't make a reasonably sized bottle, everything is under 50 ml which only lasts about a month

@geologyrox: Ok sweet. I used Proactiv + the mask the comes free with it and I had perfect skin couple years, but I randomly started breaking out. Switched to Clinique's acne prone line and it worked wonders but I'm just trying to get away from chemicals

but I will definitely be looking into those st ives pads and that mint julep mask

Man if you live on your own, you need a rice cooker and a crock pot. Both are relatively inexpensive and serve a ton of cooking purposes.
What are some practical tasks you or most people do with NFC tags?

How heavy will the storm be when you're making it rain?

Yeah, I changed my mind on that.

I've never had an active pet like a cat. It seems like it's like having a kid where your life has more peaks and valleys but shallower (and fewer valleys). I've considered getting a dog/cat after graduation. How much time do you need daily to take care of a cat? While a pet would be fun at times, I don't want to be in a situation where I'm too busy that I can't adequately maintain the lifestyle of both me and my pet.
i've also got sensitive skin but i worked my way up to what i'm using now (alpha hydrox 14% glycolic serum every night and a 40% lactic acid peel once a week) p slowly
if you're just starting to get into chemical exfoliation i'd recommend starting with st. ives' exfoliating pads (i think they contain like 4-5% lactic acid, which is the most gentle of the AHAs) to make sure you don't have a bad reaction before getting into peels or more concentrated products. if you're acne-prone you might want to look into BHAs as well, i've heard a lot of good things about paula's choice BHAs but i've never tried them
and i use a really cheap clay mask (queen helene mint julep) once a week or whenever i feel like i need to and i would recommend it for all skin types. the mint feels so dang good and hecka refreshing
Just curious, what sort of dog did you own?
Over the years, I've had a German Shepherd, some sort of Bordie Collie mix, a random mut, and a Australian Shepherd mix. All of them were great dogs, but they require a lot more attention than the cats I've had, especially the one I have now, generally did/do.
Having had both I can confidently say cats usually require less maintenance than dogs.

I don't spend much time with the cat specifically, but she is always by my side and I don't get out all that much so I think my answer isn't going to help you. Still, she hardly bothers me and the only things I seriously need to do every day are clean her box and feed her/give her fresh water. I guess having time, an hour or two, to play with a cat wouldn't be bad if you're not always around in the first place would be good too. If you seriously do end up getting a cat, go to a shelter and find an older cat that's been there for a while. Kittens and younger adults need a lot of attention and outlets for their energy, from what I've been told.
