Violet Cubes, What they really mean

Violet Cubes are hands down without a doubt worth it, but what does it really mean? Guys wake up Maplestory is at its last stage where they will do anything and everything possible to make you spend money on the game. Maplestory 2 is on it's way, when it comes out everyone will just play that instead, meanwhile all the money spent on Maplestory will be just sitting there completely gone to waste. Just my thoughts

@hallrock: Never said that MS2 would kill MS1 lmao. It will however be a popular game for many reasons. Which I won't go into detail since that's a bit off topic from this post and I already explained the jist of why MS2 will be popular earlier. It is more like pre-bb MS that everyone wanted back. The community aspect will definitely rise in that game compared to how it is in MS1 right now. Also MS1 had always been p2w just not as bad as it is now. 2x cards, gachapons, and those gacha boxes you open with cash shop keys were all p2w. It just got worse over the years. Very few if any f2p games are not p2w in some aspect. Which is not a bad thing just when it goes over board makes it less appealing to the casual players.

It doesn't matter that much that high end game equips are untradable. The ones that can be psok will still be in demand such as cra gear and gollux equips. These cubes will lesson the gap by making the already godly gear cheaper to afford by the less funded. That's why everyone is complaining in the first place. They also know the game will be "too easy" since everyone will be able to get decent gear. That's the main complaint and why people hate it. They want to be selfish and keep the godlies to only the select few who pay 1000s on the game. They don't want to see some less funded or unfunded players with decent gear. It won't make them look "pro" anymore. Which is just silly. These cubes help everyone in the long run and what cubes should have been from the get go. It's also very sad to see people complain about this because this was what people wanted long time ago. They receive it and now they change there minds? I bet if Nexon listend and took these cubes out people will complain about how it is to gear up again and wishing for ways to get decent gear easier.

@ghsninja They said it was an INTRODUCTION of the violet cubes. They never said limited time only. Please learn the differences. This is being put in the game right now then maybe removed for a few weeks to a few months depending on when Nexon feels it should be perma in game. Eventually it will be a perm cube though.
These are what cubes should have been in the first place. People complained about how cubes sucked and that it was too hard to obtain good stats. That the only rich players of the game can obtain them. Nexon after years delivers something to calm people down and help the less funded get funded easier. People complain bc now it's "too easy" to get godly gears. They flip flop mainly because they are selfish people who believe that they spent 1000s per equip that everyone else needs to do the same thing. It's the conservative greediness coming into play here.

@shangz Err well currently in KMS2 the game is going very well from what I seen and played. I doubt everyone will be playing the game but a lot will. The game is far less p2w than the current MS1 right now and offers a load more content than MS1 has already. Only reason why people hate the game so much is bc of the ugly graphics. I personally don't care about what graphics a game has as long as the gameplay is decent. I play runescape from time to time and that has the worse graphics of all games made.
MS1 didnt start out p2w, it has just ended up that way (although reward points and cubes that drop from monsters have helped make it a little easier for those that don't pay). Honestly, MS2 doesn't look enjoyable to me. I highly doubt that the release of MS2 will kill MS1.

OT: Had violet cubes been released a couple of years ago when most people were using tradable equips, I think they would have been a better thing for the community. They would have driven down the costs of high % stat items and made it easier for everybody to become stronger. However, now that most end-game equips are untradable, violet cubes are just going to increase the gap between paying players and unpaying players.

A lot of pre-bb/nostalgia players will probably flock to MS2. When I was in closed Beta testing it reminded me of how Maple was when I first started in 2008 or so. It's quite a grind to even get to level 30.

I personally found the customization of the game neat, but the grind is boring and not for me. I think it will do well if/when it hits globally.

MapleStory isn't a company, Nexon is. Even If all players move to MS2 Nexon will still collect the profits.

yeah, some people who didnt buy the old cubes might buy these instead since the benefit to cost ratio is much higher but really you don't really make profit off of ppl being responsible with their money when you're pretty much in the gambing business and most of your customers dont event have a fully developed frontal lobe. i dont get it
