If you enjoy being a masochist and getting disappointed day after day, MapleStory is the one for you ! Play and see how things changed and if you like it then great. Or you can just casually play.

Bera isn't dead; it's just not as lively. But honestly, there's nothing on MS to come back for. Unless you like lag and DDOS attacks.

Population in Bera seems alright to me.
Play if you feel like it and if you find you're not enjoying it, then stop whenever you want.
