Guide for defeating griffey on a Mage/Priest

Well, we all know of the well being griffey. That hecker. A lot of mages such as I didn't know how to defeat him. Well, I figured out how, without having to hug him. It's costly, yes, but faster.
You must buy 200 Ice cream pops -Assuming you have 1.6k HP such as I.- and 200 sunrise dews. -Assuming you have 10.2k HP such as I, since sundae's aren't very effective.- Stand on one side of the map. If you're a mage, use booster. You need slow. Pin yourself, like you would griffey if you were a warrior. Now, have one hand on magic guard while spamming the attack key. Make sure your potions are near the attack key/ MG key. Keep attacking until 1/1. Griffey usually dispells after 1/1. Griffey's dispell animation is blue, unlike the 1/1, which is orange. Keep casting your attack, and it will knock it back, and once it's out of range, rebuff, then start attacking again.
Once he 1/1's use 1 sunrise dew and 1 ice cream pop. 4k Mana is all you'll need at that moment. He 1/1's quite alot, so you won't need to use more than one. This lets you kill the spawns easily, too. repeat until griffey has been annihilated, dance on his carcass for causing you so much trouble, piss on his horn, collect your star and go advance. Congrats to all who will be advancing. ^.^

@Super333:
Thus proving that you don't care crap about your character, so you shouldn't be complaining anyways. Being a bishop obviously doesn't matter else you would've quit LHC and waited for a fix.

Eh what I did on a Priest (non funded, no character boosts and clean gear around my level) was the following and worked well, it was a bit slow but still efficient for me at least.

First of course before you enter cast your main buffs you'll need, make sure you have a fair amount of Ginger Ales which can be bought in New Leaf City they heal 70% or 75% I forget of HP and MP (you can also substitute by using Power Elixirs which can easily be obtained in various PQs over time). After you're all set up with what you need enter the area of Mannon / or Griffey and do the following.

Teleport on each side of him as he's about to cast any attacks (if you watch closely you can tell which animation does what) and not to mention you can do some additional damage while you teleport mean while as you teleport to each side of him you spam your main attack and as soon as you can cast your shield. This method is slow but I find it works best for me on both of them. (Although it's about luck because even with helpful tips there is a chance of dying either way)

....What? use Elixirs or Ginseng mate.

The delay between the 2 pots can be spent casting MG.

@Super333: And you leveled 16 times? You either don't give a flying crap about your character or are trolling hardcore.

O boy what pain i had to go through while defeating griffey After numerous attempts I realized puppets for archers are well enough to distract them

You know you can talk to Cassandra to tele there? I highly doubt you're being truthful.

It's getting a bit ridiculous that so many people are complaining about it.

double potting is not effecient in the slightest... you'll likely get killed by a second attack after 1/1 before you use both. Use power elixers. And always watch for the second MG gets debuffed

Why would you ever use those.. Just buy Ginger Ales/Power Elixirs

Shell, Tele Mastery, Shining Ray till Shell is gone, tele back and forth, Shell, repeat...

on my priest at lv 120, it took me a few times to kill them both.
i start off using the invicibility shield and telemastery + shining ray until the shield runs out.
then i use holy arrow from far away until i get the shield again. and then i start telemastery+shiningray again.
if he dispel or 1/1, i spam elixirs and magic guard. i have a bunch of elixirs from going papulatus on my other characters.

Recast it right away. I still don't see how so many people have a problem with that, I did it just fine on my I/L. The only difference is damage, and I don't have an invincibility skill.

@marchiris:

I know that. Read my first post.

This was my method:
1) Stock up on ~100 barbarian elixirs.
2) Patience is key.
Go in, and make sure your MG is on watch since he debuffs like crazy. Focus your attacking when your holy shield can be activated, and when its off focus on your HP and MG.
If you only go for Griffey when you have Holy Shield it will ofc take longer, but you should be pretty safe.

Spam potion button after getting hit? I'm pretty sure you can still pot while being stunned.
And I'm sure Ginger Ales are more effective than the Dew and Ice Cream Pop. That's what I used on my Priest :O

Well, I use the magic shield and kept mass spamming and kept waiting until I got the shield again.

I killed it in the end anyways.
This is sloppy and won't work 100% of the time. Best bet is to have power elixirs and just keep attacking. Or even better if you have decent HB/Alch pots that add HP.
This is true, but it worked for me after 2 tries. however every other method never worked.
