Mage

Evan v. f/p

hey guys
so I wanted to know which you think is better in terms of:

mobbing
damage (w/ and w/o funds)
"fun" (be biased, don't tell me it's subjective)
mobility
bossing

thanks

I think Evan wins in all the categories until you try to get funded and Boss, since the revamp anything you get an Evan will always be better on any other explorer mage class.

Funnness: I like gliding around on my majestic black (onyx) dragon, blinking around the map, doing fast attacks and such. I used to like F/p's but I haven't touched one since RED - focusing on other characters (which I will never get to 200 anyway) before I return on one for training.
For me an Evan is more of a lazier character with nice defensive/magic+ buffs while F/ps are a bit more combos (DoT DoT DoT boom) and you pay attention to infinity/cooldowns and stuff.

wow you all put a lot of thought into your comments, thanks so much!

I'm slightly leaning to Evan, but I still haven't decided...

Wow, this is a very constructive thread.

mobbing: Evan by far. Blaze + flame wheel = win.
damage fire poison without a doubt. I can smash the damage cap easily. if i transfer all my equips onto an evan, my dps would be fractioned.
"fun" in terms of fun, I haven't personally played evan but I can already tell I would fall in love with them in Hoh training, but for FP, I enjoy bossing and fire poison's teleport is so appropriate for hard magnus i love it.
mobility Evan without a doubt.
bossing Fire poison without a doubt.

Evans have glide, rng map tele, and reg tele whereas fps/bishops only have reg tele.
+1 for evan mobility
Dmgwise, evans cap dmg is at 1.5m~ with illusion (unbuffed with imprint) on all bosses except vellum
Fps cap mist ruption at around 800k LOL which already on par with dpms of evan spamming 50mil illusions and their potential
is even higher once you can cap paralyze at around 3.2m~
+1 for fp for damage
Funwise... Honestly gliding with evan is really fun... Fp/bishops are so boring with their babysteps
If you dont plan on investing $2000 worth of time/money on this game to fund yourself (items are depreciating in value due to nexons recent gamechanges)
, i would go with evan because moving around is fun. illusion barely outdmgs blaze currently so you can mix it up for lulz especially with bosses that
have multiple parts i.e. vellum and its tentacles you can use blaze since it dmgs multiple targets whereas fps just spam the same combo to charge mist eruption (unfunded)

I can only speak for Evans since i've only played evan so

Damage: Evans dont require much funding to hit high damage. Flame wheel has a good range for attack, since it can attack a whole platform. Blaze can hit up to 6 lines and i believe 8 monsters at a time. Evans attack pretty fast. Their hyper skill summon onyx dragon allows you to summon a huge dragon that deals a decent amount of damage on the mobs around it. (very useful since it weakens the mobs before you attack them)

Fun: I like the Evans mobility, the dragon keeps it intresting since you can ride it and glide in the air and such. Pretty good damage and it also has a pretty neat storyline IMO.

Mobility: Evans blink allows for quick teleporting, and the ability to glide on the dragon is faster than teleport. Evans also have teleport. Mobility is fairly good.

Bossing: I know F/p are good bossers but the evans illusion skill isnt that bad for bossing. Attacks very fast and does decent damage.

Mobbing: Evan by far, with Flame Wheel and Earthquake.
Damage: F/P by FAR.
Fun: Kinda equal, IMO.
Mobility: Evan, even with a reduced tele range.
Bossing: F/P.

@xQcPopcorn everyone always comments about mist CD but don't realize that by the time you are ready to "seriously" boss you'll have the hyper that eliminate the CD. Not to mention haze + me combo.

[quote=SorLilly]Mobbing: I think Evans would be better since they have flame wheel with a long range( can hit 1 whole platform in HoH if i recall correctly, blaze is good as well when mobs are near to each other SH ) F/P however isn't bad either, they can set up poison mist which will deal damage over time, not bad !

Damage: As of now, I believe Evans are better with low fund, like I have almost all mages and I found Evans have very high amount of damage. Like with the same equips, my evan would outdamage all my other mages, but in term of range, my Luminous and BaM have higher range with the same equips but hit lower still. With fund, I think Evans will still be strong since they can hit cap easily, but their bossing skills are limited to 4 lines which I hate about it but it's fast atleast but still I'm not sure about F/P though, they are good especially with the amazing skill called Mist Eruption.

Fun: with a F/P mage, you get to set up poison mists everywhere, then have it blew up LOL. With an Evan, you have a nice dragon ! Hey a win win point =)) ! You can also summon Onyx Dragon at lv 170 with hyper skill. You can glide, teleport randomly. Quite fun I guess!

Mobily: Evan can teleport everywhere with Blink, yeah that's pretty much what "blink" means, you blink and your evan is somewhere else haha. They can glide. However, I find F/P mages have longer range of teleporting.

Bossing: Like most people said, F/P mages are very good at bossing because how strong Mist Eruption is. I saw a vid of a guy with about 500k range buff, around 200% boss can hit cap in dojo bosses just WOW! If you want to hit strong consistently, go with Evans, i find they have high %dmg. With a F/P mage, you gotta stack dots and everything.

--------------
Yeah That's pretty much sum up what I'm gonna say about those two. I love mages like I've tried out BaM, Luminous, Evan, F/P. With the same equips, my BaM has the highest range, Evan (with 150 hyper skill), Luminous. Like I said, somehow Evans have high %dmg in their passive skills that's why they hit a lot compared to other mages. I will update once I get my F/P at about the same lvl as my other mages to see. I've been struggling between which one to main as well ... JUST >_<

Evan pride I like it
