I thought phoenix became a passive skill?
From a few months back I have watched a maplestory video and it said that phoenix and forstprey became passive abilities that do not need to be summoned

However, when I tried to use phoenix today on my new ranger, it still needs to be summons and it still expires after the duration
What happened?

Oops
Sorry guys, the aura is there if the bird is summoned.
Which still distracts me
Offtopic: Sairs have the same red aura right?
The hell? You only get the aura is your bird is summoned regardless if you're a Crossbowman or Bowman.
Corsairs get the same aura when they summon a crewman so maybe you saw a Corsair that looked like a Bowman at a glance...?
No.
From the moment you get SL, the aura is visible. Phoenix doesn't have to be summoned.
Is that really true for BMs? For my MM I don't get the blue aura if Frostprey isn't summoned.
edit: Whoops, didn't read @bowmushro0m's post
Yes.
Too bad I can't see it through the ab ring effect
actually ._. that's not true. i don't like having a cluttered char. i dont use DABR, or androids. i'd really hate it if aura was there when phoenix wasn't casted xD
aura is only visable when you have phoenix summoned.
I want toggle phoenix
@Pheonixsblaze:
So the red circles are there all the time? I never paid attention lol.

Tsk...I was hoping they would tone down the AB effect but apparently that's not happening. Thanks.
So the actual aura is only visible when you use Phoenix?
No.

you now do not need to summon your bird for the buff
the buff comes passively
the spirit link aura is only present when phoenix is summoned.
if phoenix is NOT summoned, the SL aura will NOT be present.
you will still get the spirit link buffs (40%hp,15%atk, etc) even if your phoenix is not summoned though.
So as soon as you put a point in Spirit Link we have a permanent Aura? (Haven't long in for awhile)
Yes.
Too bad I can't see it through the ab ring effect
The passive is Spirit Link which is a 4th job skill
The animation is a small red aura around your character

Phoenix was never a passive skill, it was spirit link When it became passive, you didn't have to summon phoenix to get spirit links effect.
Oh okay so thats what it means, thanks
Phoenix was never a passive skill, it was spirit link When it became passive, you didn't have to summon phoenix to get spirit links effect.
That thing was always a passive skill?
But click on the link and drag to 0:50, Im a little confused
I saw the red/blue aura for the BM/MM, but while the next MM buffed-I saw nothing.
The summon has to be recast as it still times out.
The bonus from the summon (4th job skill consisting of hp%, dmg%, etc) has become passive in the form of the aura.
Also, I think she means Spirit Link
