Motorcycle help? Wont start

Long story short:
2000 Yamaha V Star 650
All maintenance done with in last 3 months
Let the bike set for 2 months with fuel line on
Started it yesterday, ran for 2 minutes, shut it off
Tried starting it today, wouldn't start.
All lights still work, guessing this might be my answer : http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_clean_out_a_motorcycle_that_will_not_start_simply_because_the_gas_was_left_turned_on
Any ideas?~ Thanks

The fact that your engine started and ran for 2 minutes shows that it's most likely not a problem with being flooded. If it was, (like in most of those answers on wiki) it wouldn't have started in the first place.

You may have gunk in the jets, which means removing the carbs and cleaning the jets. Normally I wouldn't think 2 months would be enough for gunk to build up though. That usually happens when you leave the bike sitting for a long time with the gas turned on so it sits in the carb passages and forms gums ("gunk" ).

Yamaha has a gas additive that can help clean out the carb passages and jets, but the engine needs to be able to start and run for it to have any useful effect (the gas has to actually flow through the engine for the additive to be able to work on the blockages).

If you've ever worked on the carbs you can try removing the jet needle valves and spraying out the jets with "Gumout" cleaner, but it might end up needing a full carb rebuild. Probably worth calling whoever did the maintenance and find out what they think.
