Intel Hd graphics and Ram
I have a laptop with Intel HD graphics, 6 gigs of ram, and an i5 processor running 2.3 GHz. I could run Minecraft with on low-medium settings and it's kinda choppy sometimes. I was wondering, if I upgrade my ram to 8 gigs will it do much? Will I be able to run minecraft on medium-high settings? And can my laptop run Diablo 3?

@firetamer0n3: uhh...I guess I used the wrong choice of words. It's not really external since it's still built in (I'm using a laptop), but the Intel HD graphics are integrated while the Nvidia ones are how should I say...well it's not the default GPU. According to spec sites, mine's a mid range card, so it should be able to run all games (not that I've tried to play graphic intensive games), but extremely high settings would probably lag the game.
My one's a Nvidia GeForce GT540M btw.
I have integrated graphics too, and I can run diablo 3 just fine.
Ah okay. Because my one has both an Intel HD Graphics integrated chip and a Nvidia external chip, so I thought yours would too. Guess not :S
how much was the external? is it good?

I should've gotten the other laptop with 4 gigs of ram and nvidia graphics when i was choosing my laptop huh...?
Sadly, yes you should have
4 GB of Ram is plenty and nvidias are great for decent gaming like MW2, Black ops, minecraft, etc.
Does the Intel HD Graphics come with something else alongside it? Go to your Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Display Adaptors.
Intel HD graphics card is the worst.

The processor is fine. i5's aren't outdated yet. 6 gigs of RAM is a little bit much, actually. The problem is the graphics card.
Its not about you're RAM, its about your graphics card and processor.

you do not need 8gb of ram to run minecraft lol
even 6gb is too much
