What do you remember when you first started MS?

I remember grinding in slime tree, then pig beach, then off to KPQ! Track, super fast clicking, i never got past lvl60 because of how difficult leveling was, and it just became boring to continue, yet fun to start over! I remember kumbis being for pros, I remember that there was no insurance policy for scrolling, everything was raw luck! I remember scamming noobs in the most simplistic yet effective ways, having them strip all their stuff and collecting all of it. Great Times. So what was Maplestory like when you FIRST played it?

KPQ when it was fun.
Rolling the dice (kind of miss it but don't at the same time)
When ludi came out.
When Aqua came out a little bit afterwards.
When LPQ was the way to level from 35-51
The old Maple Island<3 (AKA Noob island)
When being level 50 was considered pro.
My first level 3x being hacked. :[

Rolling the dice until it says "recommended job: Magician" and not caring about stats
Putting points into int and then seeing others hit 20 damage or more on slimes so i decided to put 5 into str.
How pre-mages had to take like 1 and a half hours doing the quests on maple island.
getting to ellinia at level 7
wanting to level once more but ellinia was surrounded by slimes so i had to whack them with a wooden club
advancing as a mage, feeling it was a great accomplishment.
didn't know about skills. friend gave me a wooden wand. whacked monsters for 2 levels until my friend showed me energy bolt.
i had 17 energy bolt and 20 magic claw at level 22.
saw an archer hit double my damage with double shot at level 15.
quit
deleted character
withdrew account
came back 3 years later.

Seeing Flying characters and asking them "how the hell do you fly?". Then more hackers followed by more hackers followed by Tiger getting banned. Epic

I remember chief stan(?) giving me a blue WG for killing some snails. Then selling it for 30k right off the boat.

Ah.. a start to a wonderful career of merching.

The chief in south(censor?)perry - i forget his name.

Let's see...

- Dice rolling... raging after disconnecting, settling for a 5/5 or 4/5 or something of that sort
- Dying to Orange Mushrooms in Maple Island
- Running out of money to buy potions, 10K was a LOT of money
- Raging over the expensive equips the NPCs had to offer
- Actually getting lost in Victoria Island... the place was huge o_o
- Running away from that scary Iron Hog in Pig Beach
- Going crazy whenever a monster dropped an equip because they were rare
- Hoping Blackbull would give a Red Triangular Shield, not a Steel Shield
- Henesys becoming my favourite place to hang out with friends
- Training in the Hill East of Henesys and the Henesys Hunting Grounds
- Assassins KSing me back and forth
- Getting excited to go to Orbis, a faraway land at level 20
- Getting even more excited to know a land made out of Legos was on the other side of Orbis
- When boat rides actually cost money
- Dying to Crimson Balrog when getting out of the Orbis ship's cabin because I was curious
- Crossing the Path to the Dungeon from Henesys and falling into the pit of doom (old players should know what I mean here)
- Stuck at Sleepywood Sauna
- Other Level 10 people stuck in Sleepywood because of VIP Cab trap
- Maya of Henesys becoming my favourite NPC because she gave me 5000 mesos, 2000 experience, and a Brown Bamboo Hat!
- Trying to achieve level 25 to wear the said Bamboo Hat
- Doing the same quest with a warrior and looking to trade the brown one for a blue one at CH. 1 Kerning
- Yelling in excitement as the Green Mushroom drops a Panlid
- Becoming excited after taking a month to get to level 30 to promote to 2nd job
- Grinding in Ant Tunnel even up to level 35. 30-35 was pure hell before Mushroom Empire existed
- Alternating to Land of the Wild Boar when it was actually crowded... (scratch that... when it actually existed)
- Exploring Aqua Road when it got released and feeling excited as we can SWIM underwater (I actually trained at Flower Fish and Bubble Fish from level 30 to 38)
- Found a Korean Fan from Masked Fish and some guy who saw it traded me 50K for it and I thought that was a lot of money
- Rejoicing when I reached 100K in money
- Raging when I realized Moonlights were 450K
- Raging when Amoria's Hair Quest gave an undesirable hair style to my characters
- Those scary Red Drakes I fought in Dangerous Valley II
- Many more I cannot think of at the moment...

Ah, those were the days

I dc'd when I stayed on the main page/dice rolling too long.
Hit my first 4/4 and ended up being a mage <3.
Didn't max Max HP on my spearman ~_~
Started in Windia, Dec 2006 I believe.
Tree dungeons were my favorite place. I'd lag to death in HHG1. xD That's why HHG1 has never really been one of my favorite maps.

oh god.. that dice thing.... x_x What a pain in the ass that was! First thing that it took me about four days to get to lvl 10, then to realise that it actually mattered where you put AP points depending on what job you wanted to be! So I had to redo that horrible dice rolling for an hour to make a new character.. for another four-five days. haha!

Oh yeah and after about half a year cash shop arrived! xD
