I thought ive been taking screenshots...but when i went to look for the ones i took they were not there. So i am at a loss...i thought the button was PrintScr but that dose not work. When i tried to change the button in the settings, it wouldn't let me move it. I have a rather new lap top but the keyboard layout is the same. I run Windows 7. thats about it x-x

Think the only way is to press print screen, then open paint, then CTRL+V, then save, then view your ss, then alt+tab back into maple, then get scammed by potential equips, then throw laptop out window.

You are trying to take a screenshot on MS, or taking it out site of the game? Print Screen is the SS function, if you want to take it outside of MS (you could take it in-game too though); however, it doesn't save it. It is on your clipboard, where you need to open up an image editing program like Microsoft Paint and paste it in there in order to get it.

If you want to take a SS using the key that assign to in MS, then it is Scroll Lock. It should, by default, save it in your MapleStory folder.

most likely there is a button that says prnt scrn or prt sc on your top right of your laptop keyboard. Some laptops require that you hold the fn key(function key). This is because that button is used as 2 functions and to use the second function is by holding the fn key and the button.(usually the second function is the same color as the fn key)

On mine it's set as a secondary key on Num Lk. So I have to press FN + Num Lk for it to register as Scr Lk.

Because while you're bossing, you can totally copy, paste, open paint, and save the picture without dying.

OT: Use Fraps, or some other Screenshot program to take SS's. That's what I do, since my SS's don't save either~

Press scroll lock to take in-game screen shots (it's set to this by default and i am pretty sure you can't change the key), and if you just generally want to take a screen shot on other sites and what not, there is a button that says "Prt Sc" press that then open up an editing program and paste it there (if "Prt Sc" is written in blue or another colour hold the "fn" key while you press "Prt Sc".

He asked for a simpler way to take in SS without needing to open up Paint or another image editing program, so why would I tell him to refer to my post again just to tell him to do the same thing he is trying to avoid?

If you had read my post, you will realize that I told him how to use the SS function of Maplestory as well. Meaning you just need to press that button, and it will automatically save in your MS folder.

Also, if you going to say the Scroll Lock button doesn't save for him, he never specifically said that either. He only said "i thought the button was PrintScr" and "When i tried to change the button in the settings, it wouldn't let me move it". The latter may have implied that he knew about the Scroll Lock button (since it is labeled), but than again the former also leave the impression that he may have gotten the two buttons mixed up somehow.

So my post:
qwan456: If you want to take a SS using the key that assign to in MS, then it is Scroll Lock. It should, by default, save it in your MapleStory folder.
is still a viable option for him.

LightingFrag: Idk why, but mine is set on Scroll Lock, the button beside prt scrn, I can't seem to move it :s

Mine works this way as well.

darkhshadow: No, idiot. She meant click Scroll Lock, and it DOES get saved if that is the assigned button. It's just hiding in the Maplestory folder, or whereever you assigned it to.

Many people (including myself,) have a problem with that option. Clicking scroll lock DOES NOT save the screenshot in C:/, the Nexon folder, nor the MS folder.
The TS's post seems to suggest either: he has the problem mentioned above, or he actually mixed up the two keys.

After more comments and feedback, it is clear that his laptop has a section of the keyboard where some keys server dual functions.
However, before this conclusion was reached, I thought it was safe to assume he knew the correct button was Scroll Lock, since he said so himself that he attempted to move it, showing that he visually saw the correct keys. After this, I had no thoughts that he mixed up the two buttons somehow.
