Shadower

should I create a shadower?

Hi,

sorry if this kind of thread is stale, I recently created an f/p mage to try it out and only at 117 did I realize the playstyle was not for me so I figured it would be good to ask some opinions before investing some time in creating a new character.

damage doesn't matter too much for me, what I'm asking is more about the playstyle. I enjoy warrior classes (paladin esp.) because they're beefy and with power stance you can pretty much ignore bosses' damage and knockback, and use little to no pots during regular training. shadowers seem to look fun to me because they are also melee and also look decently tanky with meso guard.

(corny line alert)
should I walk the path of the shadower?

Shadower sounds like you! It's the slowest thief (my opinion) for mobbing, but since you're warrior-y, that's great!

Well I got my shad to lvl 114 and then I quit because it was too slow and boring. That's just my two cents.
why do you think that? are f/p and shadower similar? o.o
the main reasons I stopped the f/p are:

- too squishy (0 w.def, no damage reductions so 1/1 and root bosses kill)
- applying big bang DoT requires you to be right next to an enemy, which doesn't help when you are squishy
- no mob control (push/pull)

I did not quit because it was too much work applying DoTs before mist eruption
as far as I can see shadowers have a good amount of damage mitigation from avoid and meso guard, and they do have a push skill

I've got 12345, qwer, asdf, xcv, left shift and the insert-delete-pagedown-etc block available for pots and keys (pots are only 3-4 keys too), so I am ready
I never played f/p before, but from your description of why you stopped, I could say that shadower won't have any of those problems.

-we're walking tanks, Meso guard + Shadow Shifter + Decent amount of avoid + smokescreen + iframes from Bstep
-since we're tanks, close range attacks won't be a probem, we got meso explosion (not sure if its completely similar to Mist Explosion though)
-we got a rush skill (but kinda sucks), mobbing is good in fourth with Bstep and meso explosion

Na don't make one, you would just quit like the F/p you started but never finish=[ as you can see i have both a F/p lvl 200 and a Shadower lvl 200 both are great accounts and love playing them both.

If you already have Mihile's link skill, Shadowers are basically like the tanks of thieves Since you stated damage doesn't really matter, you're definitely looking to enjoy Shadower As some people have said, Shadowers' skills take up about half of the keyboard hotkeys so you'll probably enjoy having a diverse skill-set for different and various situations.

If you do choose the path of the Shadower, I hope you enjoy it

Seems like you would be suited to play a shadower.
