Whatever skill you use most, just read the description of the hyper skill and see if it will benefit you. That's what I did anyways.

All 3 quad throw. Shade split +20% damage and +1 line.

I don't think there were any major changes to the 1st-4th job skills, but after tempest, where the 4th job level req. was decreased to 100, there is a lot more SP you can use for your skills.
for hypers, you can get all the actives when they unlock. For the stat hypers, I would put it into luk and dex since they boost your range. if you're level 150, you will only have 2 points to use for the stat hypers. not sure about which skill passive buffs to put it into though.
