Best way to get your YouTube videos out there?

Hi all! I'm looking for some opinions on some of the best ways to promote a video/channel! If anyone has any ideas they would like to share, that would be awesome!

And of course, this thread wouldn't be complete without shameless self promotion of my OWN videos I do with my girlfriend
Here you go!

@SnappleApplezz: Thanks for the advice! I definitely agree with the points you've made and yea it's hard to be consistent though when I attend a different university than my girlfriend!

1. Find you demographic/target audience who will actually watch your videos, reasearch more about this demographic (Most likely teens? Think about what they like, and try to add it in your videos)
2. For Vlogs, you may want to start off getting a lot more subscribers/viewers before people will start wanting to know about your life. Soorry, but it's true.
3. Focus more on the videos that get more views than the rest, such as your challenge videos, it's great, there are challenges always popping up non stop these days, and your challenges attract more attention than the rest.
4. Post consistently, don't go posting once a month

I saw your ripley's aquarium vlog, are you from Markham? Check out my channel, my school is right beside the place you are at the start of the video, https://www.youtube.com/user/ElingoElingo

I have no idea how people get YouTube famous. It might not even be possible anymore.

pretty much this. if you want any chance at growing your channel at a decent pace without either amazing luck or collabs with bigger channels, you gotta have boob thumbnails. expect a younger audience, though.

@gamey109: just don't try too hard to get views.

If you do, you will lose the fun factor. My friend is experiencing this.

He puts gameplay walkthroughs and fails to get views. I only put mine for fun and jokes.

My recent videos haven't had much luck, but I am not worried about that myself.

The only thing im weirded out is him having 400 subs and he gained half being inactive.

@mmorpg: Haha yea you would expect that I would be posting about a gaming channel on a forum such as this one right? Thanks anyways though!

If it's not a gaming channel, then I don't know how to help. But good luck with your channel.
Maybe advertise to friends and family. Click bait worthy usually works but other than that, I have nothing else to offer.

I am just one of those Youtubers that posts random game clips, but expect no views and such for any reason.
Yea every time we make a video, we post it on our Facebooks to share it with our friends. To be honest, I don't think my girlfriend and I are really expecting anything out of our channel either, we just like making these videos for fun and for something to look back on in the future! Of course it'd be nice to have a fanbase to connect with and share our thoughts with/get suggestions on what videos to do though which is why I thought it wouldn't hurt to try promoting it, right?

Seek promotional avenues with larger channels and/or partnerships.

Independently attracting popularity to your videos would be a feat in its own right due to YouTube being notably dominated by a few larger channels in their respective content genres.

Haha thanks so much! We love making these types of videos, they're unbelievably hilarious to watch afterwards (at least to us!)
