Touchpad not working

So... my touchpad on my laptop occasionally stops working by itself (stops working as in I cannot two-finger scroll, zoom, and do other touchpad gestures but I can still click and move the mouse pointer). If I restart my computer, the touchpad will start working 100% again but it's just a hassle everytime this happens that i need to restart my computer, especially if I have many tabs open that I wanna keep open. I tried enabling and disabling my touchpad by pressing "fn + F9" but that doesn't do anything but turn it on and off (duh). I don't remember pressing any specific key combination before this happens each time. My device manager says everything is connected and working properly. Is there anything to like ... reset the touchpad without restarting the computer?

Thanks for any help!

Best advice i can tell you is not to randomly restart random services, it can damage your computer.[/quote]
