Dont Feed Honey to Children Under the Age of One?

So, I was looking at the back of a bottle of honey, and a little notice caught my eye. It read "do not feed honey to children under the age of one". I wasn't really thinking about doing it, but why am I not supposed to? Can it like, kill them? I don't understand.

I'm just kinda curious what responses you guys come up with. I mean, sure I could google it, but where's the fun in that?

Certain "good" bacteria in it that will go into the stomach and not agree with all the super hyper protein crap they eat. Also, first poster.

pretty much what @aznxbrainy said.

its a bacteria thats in the soil that affects a lot of plants and honey especially in honey, and causes the botulism, which can have symptoms such as muscle weakness and delayed development

They will start growing an obsession with the honey and slowly mutate into a bee.

I was told that it can cause botulism. That was just some stranger telling me that, so I don't know how true it is. It sounds plausible though.
